After BYU's beat down of Texas and USC getting upset by an atrocious Washington State team, do you think these guys are gone after the end of the year? What say you?

    Kiffin, yes. Brown, no.

Brown has a little bit of Bobby Bowden in him, methinks.

Only way they stick around is to win their conference, Will that happen, No.

They will be gone just not sure when the AD's will pull the trigger?

Yeah the difference is that Brown gets to choose when he leaves (well, as much as Bowden did), but Kiffin's fate will be decided by the powers that be. His odds can't be great.

Well Haden gave Kiffin a vote of confidence in a 5 minute video over the summer. Normally such a statement is the kiss of death.

Brown will be kicked upstairs in some associate AD desk job

Kiffin will be kicked out the door. Talk about an underachiever

I'm sure he'll find a good job somewhere. Good things seem to fall into his lap, despite being the world's largest douche-nozzle! :D

Personally I feel both will be gone. I think Texas forces Brown to step down and Kiffin is fired. If I were a betting man I would say that Sarkisan is at USC next year. I'm not sure about Texas though... Charlie Strong?

I'd like to know the story behind hire at both TN and USC. What did either of these major programs see in this immature hothead? He should be the special teams coach at a rural high school.

Before the season started I didn't think Kiffin would be around for the 2014 season and nothing that's happened so far changes that thought.

Brown is a clone of Booby. He's not leaving voluntarily. Just like FSU, things will have to get so bad that Texas finally forces him out. I don't know if they're at that point yet, I don't follow Texas at all.

    They are both gone.

Texas has been trending downward for awhile. BYU is pretty good this year but not awesome or anything. They dominated and had over 500 yards rushing. Texas will go 6-6ish.

USC is awful. They looked terrible against Hawaii and terrible against WSU. I actually don't think WSU is that bad. Had 4 turnovers (I think) on the road at Auburn and nearly won. Their QB threw 3 picks last night and they won at USC. Leach should get them to a bowl.

He was an immature hothead who was bringing a Superbowl winning defensive coordinator and Ed O - a top college recruiter with him.

Haden's reasoning may be that until the scholly sanctions are over and done with there won't be a lot of top HC candidates that would want to hang their reputation on trying to keep their head above water in such a tough situation. Their recruiting under Kiffin has been about as good as you could possibly hope for considering he's having to sell kids on playing at a distinct disadvantage. Why not keep the ace recruiting staff in place through one or two more cycles to keep the talent level as high as possible coming off sanctions and THEN bring in someone who can coach them up? Call it the Zook strategy if you will. In hindsight it wasn't a bad one by Jeremy. There were simply no top coaches to be had when SOS left ... so bring in the ace recruiter, stock the cupboards and bide your time until the right guy comes along.

But to the OP's original question: Kiffin's a terrible head coach and a PR nightmare. He's gone in the not too distant future and will never again be the head coach at a top program IMO (though he'll make someone an excellent recruiting co). No one will want to deal with the punk after this stint. USC being hit with sanctions was the greatest thing to ever happen to Kiffy Kakes ... prolonged his HC job (and fat pay check) quite a few years longer than he would have lasted if they were at full strength and undoubtedly still underperforming as he's too much of an idiot to truly lead a program to greatness.

Kiffen will get whacked and then fall ass backward into the Dallas Cowhoys' coaching job when Nick Saban is about to sign the contract from Jerry. Oh, and at a higher salary than Saban could command.
