once you have achieved a high draft status, why stay in college, risk injury, costing your self millions in bonus cash? clowney should head to the img training academy and start getting ready for the combine.

He had 2 catches this year. Something doesn't seem quite right.

I wouldn't doubt it if he cashes his chips in and says adios to OBC, especially after SOS called him out this weekend.

Hmm, seems like that's where he may be at this point.

He was suspended one game and out another. You won't find a more athletic tight end in the country but he has always been more promise than production.

There have been a lot of rumors on that. He totally seems like the kind of guy to have a glass coffee table...

This is the guy that has been in the media trying to pick fights with his head coach all season long. I'm pretty sure the Oregon HC is just sick of him and kicked him off the team. But he's nice enough to allow the kid to save face by saying he's "prepping for the draft"

I'd much rather see college football not pay the student athletes, so there will probably be more and more kids leaving for the NFL ASAP. And this is the way it should work for them.

I don't know about "all season." He was out one game earlier this year and Helfrich just said Lyerla was out for "circumstances" which caused a bunch of speculation about drugs. Lyerla was upset that Helfrich's comment on his absence was so vague as to cause the speculation and said so when interviewed by the media later. It wasn't a suspension because the team did announce he was suspended this past week.

It may be true that Helfrich ran him out like they did Darren Thomas who also declared for the draft when no one even thought of him as an NFL player. Unlike Thomas though, Lyerla is a bona fide NFL prospect.

The entire football world was asking whether Clowney should play this year or just sit it out with the biggest mouths saying he would be a fool to risk it all on the field. You have to think some of that penetrated his thinking. It put him in a no-win situation and over hyped him to the point of being unable to match it with his play.

You could hear between the lines of the announcers and analysts the real question on their minds, why isn't he blasting people's helmets off and laying them out like stiffs anymore? How do you live up to that?

What a derogatory comment. As a glass coffee table owner, I'm EXTREMELY offended and demand you apologize :)

clowney's top 5 draft position is set--he's a fool to risk injury and cost himself millions.

Wouldn't look good to the NFL coaches is Clowney bolted after getting his feelings hurt by his coach IMO. That said, I think a lot of teams still go after him big-time.

Not if he was worth millions. Millions > pride. (In this case)

They need to decide before the season. Give your team everything you have or allow them to move on without you. If the case is that he is packing it in mid season and he were my son I'd be pissed.
