Simple...no turnovers and I guarantee a W. Our defense will be up to the task. Moo State? Please! We are the best defense in the country and will frustrate LSU....our team has to shut down the run...who ever runs for more yardage will win and if we don't turn the ball over then our defense will keep their qb on the sideline.

LSUs defense is awful...only two good DL and when they get worn down...look out.

LSU has to be more different from the team they fielded last year than any other team in the country from '12 to '13. Their defense went from dominant to porous and their offense, with essentially all the same players, went from a dumpster to Ashley Greene.

Landry and Beckham will be the toughest combo of receivers we see all year, even if Bennett and JSW return in time for the Cocktail Party. VH3 and Purifoy need to have great games because Roberson, playing or not, will probably be rusty.

The winning formula is pretty much the same every week. Our margin for error is small because our offense has little to no explosiveness and our kicking game is suspect. So win the turnover battle, make them drive the distance to score, and win the fourth quarter.

I don't like our chances a ton. We certainly can win this game, though. Obviously, being able to stop LSU from running is huge. But I think we may also need to be plus 2 or 3 in turnovers.

Bingo. Our Secondary is scary good. They can go one on one coverage with any WR group in the nation

I'm not worried about their running game. LSU's run game got stoned by Georgia's defense to the tune of 36 attempts for 77 yards (2.1 yards per carry) with a long of 16. South Carolina, Clemson and Tennessee averaged 204 yards rushing against that same lame Georgia defense. :ninja:

FYI, Murphy has a higher total QBR than all of the above. Because he started late, he needs another game to be qualified in the ranking.

    Don't sell our guy short..

We win if our defense starts fast, stays fast and end fast. If the O line holds up and gives Murphy time, and opens up holes for the running backs. Finally, the defense needs to pick off the quarterback often.

I think we can run the ball with Mack Brown, but trying not to be a homer (as I've been accused of being by a couple here or there the last few days), I think LSU wins this one in a close game because they have home field advantage.

Personally, I think we should take a page out of Urban Meyer's 2008 playbook when we faced LSU in The Swamp... spread the field and the OL gaps out and just attack LSU for sixty minutes. Make it a lot harder for their younger defense to play gap defense and cover the field.

This time last year, everyone was predicting that LSU would whip us by 2-3 TDs. Even our own boards.

Well, I never meant to compare them to our guy, but while I know Murph's efficiency stats are excellent, these numbers might have a lot to do with our commitment to run. Therefore, it isn't clear if he would replicate this production in a game where it is clear that he is forced to pass.

I hope they whip us just as bad as they did last year.
