Why do some folks on here think LSU will be a contender next year?
Or was Hickey the only real loss for them?

Of course, they've surely given us all we can handle over the years.

Because they return a massive, athletic, and skilled frontcourt

Their guards weren't the greatest. Streaky chuckers. This year you hope they'd be a little better. Plus they add another 4 star big thats pretty good. Losing Hickey hurts though

Johnny O'Bryant is gone, he was their frontcourt.

He was their frontcourt by design last year. The younger guys, Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey (2 five stars) learned from him. They will be sensational this year. They also bring in Elbert Robinson this year (four star center). They've got some good guards even without the midget Hickey. We'll see. I like them to sneak into the tourney this year. Last year before the season started they were my sleeper team to make the sweet 16. They let me down a little. I think if they had gotten into the tourney last year they coulda done some damage.

True, didn't realize those younger guys were so talented. Still gotta coach em up...and losing Hickey like this doesn't help them, he was a nice guard who led the SEC in assist-turnover ratio last year. I also thought they would do more this past season. Their horrible OOC scheduling really hurt their tourney chances too.

Perhaps...he's a huge dude with a nice array of offensive moves, a decent jumper, shot 50% from the field playing 30 minutes a game, scoring 15 pts, 8rebs, 1.6 assists and a block per game this past year. He's a very solid player who I think will be able to contribute to an NBA squad pretty quickly.

I liked O'Bryant. I think Mickey is the most skilled of them all. I think Mickey and Martin will both have big years and long careers in the nba. Lsu also has Ben Simmons coming in next year. If Martin and Mickey stay another year, and Elbert Robinson turns out to be good, watch out for LSU in 15.

UK's big frontcourt simply could not control O'Bryant. The dude can play.
