I was at the game and know for a FACT that lsu was holding our defensive linemen all game long. I will confirm when I get home and watch the film in HD, but it was complete bullsh*t that I witnessed live in terms of holding. Without that occurring he wouldn't have had ALL day to throw.

Since our offensive line is pretty poor at pass protection (and that may be putting it mildly) why not coach them to hold and cross our fingers that it's not called? Of course we are Florida so I speculate the refs wouldn't turn a blind eye to it then.

Holding happens on almost every play. The smart coaches teaches their players to hold just enough to not get called.

We could teach it to our guys but most of the time they're not blocking anyone anyway.

    Dante Fowler was held repeatedly.

I'm still pissed about the no call on the false start; the one near the endzone. That was huge. Would have backed them up 5 yards, making that a much harder 3rd down conversion. And then there was the late hit on one of our defenders, a LB I think. No call and it was right in front of the ref!

Whatever, we were probably going to lose regardless. Still BS though.

Is a defender allowed to go up to an official and show him a ripped/tugged on jersey that the oline is causing? Or is that considered unsportsmanlike?

As long as he doesn't touch an official, I assume he can do whatever. Though if he keeps yelling at the ref, it would probably be deemed as unsportsmanlike.

The whole game is pretty much holding and unnecessary roughness. Just how much is too much is determined by the zebras. I have no doubt our opponent was guilty of this on more than one occasion.

The SEC doesn't call holding anymore on anybody. It's a lot like the NFL, you have to be really flagrant and it has to affect the play or no whistle.

Then we need to teach our guys to hold more because they obviously were not holding anybody

I was waiting for the LSU fans to go Olay as their DL run right past of OL.

haha! could be on to something.

I noticed quite a bit of bs. As someone already noted, the no call on the false start is just f'n crazy - how does the ref not see that!! I just don't believe that a false start from an offensive lineman, especially that one, is not seen.

I saw offensive pass interference, unsportsman like conduct and a bunch of bs from their players.

All in all....tough game...damn it that we lost!!...but we can get better.

Well that would assume that our OL was actually making contact with the guys. I'm not sure that happens as much as we would like. I saw a lot of wiffs this season.

Basically as long as you approach them and ask them to watch the holding respectfully, show them evidence why and don't just go off screaming at them about missing calls
