Lou Holtz just said that you never design and run routes the way Florida has receivers run routes. Allows 1 defender to cover 2 receivers and draws defense to the play. Said passing offense had poor routes and schematic design. Thought that also led to interceptions. Also discussion that Florida offense lacks explosive plays and that our quarterback, who shall remain nameless, played an awful game. Basically called out the Florida offensive coordinator and coaching staff.

Let's get a OC that understands passing game and I would start playing a new QB as well. We can get that type of QB play from anyone. No upside with JD. Other programs have freshman that play better (see Penn State).

Also, Clay Burton is an awful TE. He may be smart, but they are not gifted athletically. Clay Burton blocked someone from behind causing a 15 yard penalty on first drive, dropped a pass, and is a liability. Would rather have Kent Taylor in the game and catching 5 yard passes for first down. Might as well play another OL, if Burton is our TE.

JD is not awful. I tend to agree with Lou, and that means that JD's awful game is on the coaches.

I will agree with everything except the qb on this thread. Driskel was not the issue on the last interception, that was Burton for not turning his big ass head around. He took 3 steps after cutting instead of turning his head on 1st step.

Why would you even trust Muschamp to make that choice?
After Cheeseburger and now Pease, don't you see a larger problem?

Is this why our receivers are open rarely. I thought it was just good defenses. j/k

I'm more than a little dubious of anything that comes out of his mouth these days. Just because Holtz said it, doesn't make it so. I also refuse to believe Pease and Joke could be that dumb.

I still don't understand where Pease got this reputation as being some kind of offensive guru. At Kentucky? Eh, they were pretty mediocre under Guy Morris with him as OC. At Boise? Everyone knows it's Petersen's offense. And his predecessor Bryan Harsin looks to be doing great things at Texas.

Even after that failed 2-point conversion attempt that changed the momentum early?
Why would you give either one of them the benefit of the doubt?

Jeff was certainly awful today and has not exhibited any improvement in his decision-making. He has no pocket presence and tends to panic and do dumb things way too much for this stage of his career.

Burton and Driskel were responsible for not completing the pass. Quentin Dunbar was responsible for the INT. He ran an incredibly poor route that left his guy in position to make the play. If you watched, after the play Driskel was yelling at Q.

What does Pease have to do with upperclassmen that can't run correct routes? Wouldn't that be more on Joker?

I agree but Driskel still threw a fastball high and behind Burton so it wouldn't have mattered when he turned his head.

And either Holtz is right or the other receiver ran the wrong route because there should not have been a free guy standing there able to make a jump on that ball.

I have complained about running two receivers to the same spot since the Addazio days. It makes no sense. It is amazing that we don't throw more interceptions.

Well I will agree with Lou that having two short out routes on the same side of the field like that helps the defense out by shortening their area to defend and creating very poor throwing angles relative to where the DBs are. If Pease designed that, then it's on him, but its possible somebody ran the wrong route.

I just don't think Hotlz knows what he's talking about.

Forget our offensive coaches... you're telling me a defensive guru like Muschamp can't tell that our offensive scheme is making things easy for the defenses we face?
