The Murphy 3rd down run spot was a good spot. Knee was down.

The refs are getting back at us for our lineman showing them up on ESPN!

I mentioned this after last game... the refs were stealing one yard here and there last game. This game they graduated to stealing two yards at a time - blatantly bad spots on several occasions.

The last time Arkansas game to Gainesville, we benefitted from a couple of favorable spots in some very key moments.

Saw at least eight non-called holds tonight by Arkie too, and I mean ones that should have been called too. They got a couple of their good runs in the first quarter on holds.

Plus, the damned penalty called on our center Harrison for retaliating after an Arkie lineman shoved his hand up under his facemask? Remember against a couple of teams a couple of years ago when our D-linemen got called for putting their hands on the opposing O-lineman's facemask? I distinctly remember one of them being called on us against Tennessee in the 2009 game in the Swamp.

I honestly, seriously believe there are some SEC crews that have it in for UF.

I kind of figured we had a few makeup calls coming after the punt catch interference call.

The spots seemed to be where the knee was, not where the ball was.

That was the right call, no matter what the guys in the booth thought.

This is what I saw mostly, but some were head-scratching wrong/short.

Well, Murphy goes down to avoid collisions in a Pete Rose slide, as he should. At full speed and stretched out like that, it's hard to be spot on on the spot (clever turn of phrase, eh?). What I thought were lousy spots during the live action turned out to be pretty good after the replay.

personally, I didn't see any interference on that punt catch by purifoy; I've seen the opposition - and us - get a lot closer and not get called for an infraction.

On a fair catch, the returner has a chance to catch it without interference. As long as it doesn't hit the ground. Obviously, they interfered.

I didn't see any interference; hog players were to the side and behind purifoy at the time of the catch. but what is the exact rule? be outside of a yard from the receiving player?

The exact rule is, even though he bobbled it, it didn't hit the ground. He is still supposed to have a chance to catch it.

It bounced off his arms and hit the guy standing a couple feet away in the chest. I would have been pissed if the teams were reversed there.

Still think it was a bad call and that the refs just had a bad angle on the bobble. Definitely not upset about it though!

The thing about the Murphy scramble for a first down (and it WAS a first down by a yard and a half), is that his knee didn't hit the ground before the ball did, which was clearly a yard and a half past the first down marker. Even his knee was half a yard past it when he finally landed.

That horrible spot might have changed the entire course of the game IMO.
