I just finished reading "American Sniper", the autobiography of Chris Kyle. Kyle recorded the most confirmed sniper kills in American military history. He was murdered this past February at home in Texas. Kyle and Marcus Lutrell were both SEALS and friends. The books talks quite a bit about the battle that inspired this movie.

I read both Chris Kyle's book you mentioned, and Marcus Luttrell's book "Lone Survivor" which of course is the basis for the movie. Both books are worth reading if you want some insight into our military and especially Navy SEALs and their mindset. The title "Lone Survivor" obviously tells part of what's going to happen on the mission, but knowing that and learning the first-hand account of everything gave me greater appreciation for what our military, SEALs, etc and their families can go through and sacrifice.
