There is a thread on Swamp Gas about what to wear to early afternoon games. Yes that's right, guys in a sports forum are giddily chatting with each other about what outfit they're wearing to the game. :slapper: NTTIAWWT.  ANYway, the subject of cargo shorts came up in that thread, and it was mentioned that they are widely considered to be "out of style" at this point. As a resident of South Beach where I am at least a witness to all the latest fashion trends, if not necessarily a participant, I can confirm that cargo shorts are no longer considered fashionable. But I say, WHO CARES?? As was noted by a poster in the aforementioned Gamewear Fashion Thread on Swamp Gas, go to any public place anywhere and you will still find lots of guys rocking their cargo shorts...because they're just so damn functional. Let's face it - "fashion" is a concept forced on us by clothing retailers who need us to keep buying new clothes. I have no regard for the people who run that industry OR their vapid slaves, the trend-obsessed fashionistas who enforce their masters' whimsical edicts by pointing and snickering: "Ewwww! Cargo pockets!?! 2003 called, it wants its shorts back!" F the Fashion Police! Viva los shorts de cargo! I have a closet full of them and am not yet ready to retire them to the Shorts Hall of Fame so they can join the jean shorts and the Ocean Pacific corduroy walking shorts in the nostalgic "Shorts of Yesteryear" display. Who's with me?
