First and foremost as long as we keep Will Grier and Dalvin Cook I will grade this class no lower than a B+ at the end of the cycle. That is how special those two are.

There is a decent chance Florida loses its top 3 corners this year with Watkins graduating and Roberson and Purifoy deciding to take their talents to the NFL. As a result we need to recruit reinforcements. VH3 and Poole should be excellent player on the defense for the next few years but they are going to need some help.

Since we have only took 2 CB’s in the last two cycles we need to take 3-4 corners in 2014.

Duke Dawson is the only DB committed. Duke is a great pick up with the ability to play Nickel corner safety. Many say he can also be a CB but I question that because of his overall speed. You want your corners to be 4.4 -4.5 guys Duke is a 4.6-4.7 guy.

We play a lot of pattern matching and I have trouble believing he has the speed to cover the deep 3rd if the WR goes vertical. He just doesn't have that extra burst. Duke is a less explosive Matt Elam with better hips. That being said he is going a very good player for the Gators and an excellent nickel corner prospect.

One school that is still recruiting Duke is Bama and he plans on visiting this summer but I don’t think we have anything to worry about.

J.C. Jackson- Is now committed to UF

    Out of state players

Jalen Tabor- While there has been talk that Bama leads I think Florida does. He has always talked highly about Florida wears Florida gear and was one of the first recruits the staff visited for spring evaluations. As a player he is tall with long arms that will help him in press man.

Parrker Westphal- Parker is from Antonio Morrison’s high school and he plays just like him but at corner. Most people believe Michigan leads he has been their multiple times and even took a visit with his grandparents. He visited UF this weekend hopefully Morrison and the staff put the Gators in good position.

Adoree' Jackson- While he is from Cali he grew up in Illinois so he is not obsessed with USC. Jackson cares about track and field just as much as football if not more. He has aspiration of competing in the Olympics. Adoree had long jump PR's over 24 feet (link below to watch) Because of Florida’s track team we have a good shot at him. Adoree Jackson’s teammate is LB Dwight Williams who is also very high on the Gators and has already stated he will take an official visit to Florida that has to help us with Adoree.

As on overall player Jackson is just a playmaker. He will help in the punt return game and could play offense as well. As a corner he is not the technician as some of the others that Florida is recruiting but that is to be expected seeing as though he is play two other sports. Jackson is just so naturally gifted he doesn't have to be so technically sound. While raw as a corner he has great hips feet and leaping ability.

    Georgia boys

A lot of eyes and time are spent on metro Atlanta football players which makes it hard to stand out. It is not Florida's honey hole but there are a few CB's we are recruiting in that area

Wesley Green- small and quick corner who has offers from everybody

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YaOWPIZ8WZo

D.J. Smith- enjoyed his visit to the USC game during the season and thinks highly of the staff has many project him to go to UT but it s way too early to worry about that since he is waiting until signing day.

    http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1183853/highlights/35586754

Grant Haley- Is coached by Will Muschamp's brother. Haley is a solid corner but probably a back up plan.

    http://www.hudl.com/athlete/768381/highlights/7512552

Malkom Parrish- high school QB in Georgia but he has excellent feet and base kind of reminds me of MacKensie Alexander. All the talk has been about UGA and GT but he has Florida group I am not sure Florida has offered.

    http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1423699/highlights/41501373

    South Florida CB's

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=z_9wTpQv2so
    http://www.hudl.com/athlete/317349/highlights/38087397

Chris Lammons- South Florida DB on the short side visited UF in the spring knows Roberson but he is also a Canes fan. Very explosive football player who plays QB and safety. He is a little small at 5'9 but he has long arms and elite quickness.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rKmyKcHduKg

Quincy Wilson- While Quincy and his father claim he is a CB I think he eventually ends up at safety he is already 6-1 200lbs and his hips seem a little tight. Florida is in nice position for Wilson but he will visit schools all over the country this summer.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=UuGrOeHRRS0

Treon Harris- His father is the head coach of Book t Washington Treon is an excellent corner prospect but wants to play QB in college.

    http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1505830/treon-harris

    Kendall Sawyer
Not much info on him and I am not even sure he has an offer but is a very good CB prospect that plays all over the field for his high school team. He is an excellent athlete and expect the staff to offer and pursue sometime in the near future.

    http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1012064/kendall-sawyer

    Safety

Jamal Adams- while we don’t need a safety this year Adams is just too good of a football player to ignore. He says he wants to play right away how realistic that is who know but I am sure Muschamp will give him every opportunity. Right now it looks like Texas and Texas A &M are his front runners but he will visit Florida in the summer.

Joker and his father were teammates at Kentucky and Jamal is Joker's god son.

Any combination of 4 players on the list will be sufficient. The staff has a big deep DB board filled with 4 and 5 star prospects all of which we have a good chance with.

We have alot of talent at DB.
Might lose Roberson and/or Purifoy, after this season. Still will have Hargraves and Poole back, along with Washington, so could use 2-3 CB's. Duke should be solid , need 2 more.

Failing to get one more CB in the closing months last year was one of my only complaints about the 2013 class. We really needed that last corner.

Check out Adoree's year in review on youtube. That kid is a freak. I can only imagine him and VH3 shutting recievers DOWN in the SEC. Nice write up by the way.

I know where he's coming from. I'm committed to my wife, but I call Anne Hathaway my leader. She just never calls me back.

Might? Both are projected as first rounders in next year's draft. Hargraves will only be around for three years. Poole too if he breaks through this year. UF is now DBU.

I'm thinking Washington is a safety. Looks awfully good in center field with his length and speed.

It wasnt a huge need last class and they didnt want to take a player that was not going to contribute. They could have pulled some 3 star if they wanted to. That being said I think they should have not put all their eggs into Jalen Ramsey basket and worked more for Alexander.

I think Washington is a safety but if we need to he can play some CB. It will be interesting to see where Washington goes in the baseball draft.

gotta like our chances of landing one or two of jackson/jackson/tabor, which would be excellent

not to jack the thread but AZ, what are our chances with sharpe, lane and dixon? we'll do fine at DL/LB. if we can land those 3 on offense, whoa!

4 years will mean we have him his senior year? Not sure about that. Still we need 3-4 this year.

We should be sending a few to the NFL over next 3-4 years at CB and Safety. Think Maye will be a stud, and Harris seems like the real deal, don't know much about Neal, does he stay at SS or maybe move to LB down the road? Isn't he like 6'1 210 now?

The boys over at Cross city area say Duke can run a 4.5 now ,if Bama wants him something is special there, the only problem we heard is attitude, great pick if we can get him.

    1. No offense Dawny but I will believe combine numbers over the boys at cross city.

    2. Muschamp's eye > Bama. Since Muschamp wants him he will be special.

    3. I think he is going to be a fantastic player for the Gators at Nickle back

Harris and Neal are huge but they are staying at safety. Harris probably could even play some nickle corner
