    ..never heard it used before.

    Talking about Gideon Ajagbe:

“He's done an outstanding job blocking, protecting and catching the football,” UF coach Will Muschamp said. “He'll throw his face in the fan. He's a guy that's really blossomed in the position. That's why you always try and cross-train guys at different spots and see what they can do, and he did a fantastic job."

That's like saying he's a death-squad commando type player... without the death of course. That's a high compliment to Ajagbe.

At 6'3 240 he is a load (especially if he can get low going through the line), but also a nice target coming out of the backfield. A pleasant surprise for all of us against Toledo. Going from being a LB to blowing up LB's!

Basically saying he'd run through walls for the coach and team. HUGE compliment. Great find! Rep

I think he'll be a fan favorite before long. I love, love, love, throwing to a fullback.

I thought he looked really good and very smooth for a big guy.

Along with Hunter Joyer, what a pair of fullbacks.

So basically if the *hit hits the fan, he is a guy who won't shy away from it.

Me too! Just adds another dimension to our offense that we haven't had for a long time.

Imagine running our Jumbo set with Joyer as the FB and Ajagbe as the RB. It'd be like a freight train running behind an tank.

That is hilarious. I often wonder if coaches go home at night, and when their wives ask them about the press conferences, they say, "I have no idea what I was talking about. Who the **** puts his face in a fan?"

I met him once. He was a nice guy. I think he had his schools down to UNC and us.

I interpreted it as saying that Gideon is not bashful about running full speed into 250-300 lb defenders in the front 7, as a FB you obviously have to have no fear of head-on contact...

Just didn't know if that was a football phrase that I just had never heard used.

Well now that I've read that quote from Muschamp, I sure hope he picks Florida. :)

I was hoping the team could come up with something a little more creative.

In his first three years here, he appeared in four games on special teams. Then he finally gets on the field and looks great running, blocking and catching.
