around this time last year, 4.28.12

Gators were one of the top ranked teams in the nation, but were only 12-8 in the SEC...and dropped the sunday game at home to Arkansas to fall to 12-9 in the league.

gators had stormed thru the non-conference schedule last year, sweeping miami, & FGCU, among others, to be 16-1 before league play started.

we swept vandy, went 2-1 vs USC
but were 1-2 vs ole miss, LSU, Arkie
and 2-1 vs tenn and georgia.
    also ended up sweeping fsu.

at this point in time last year we were 21-3 OoC, & 33-12 overall thru the sunday game last season.

4-3 in SEC series in 2012

    ------------------------

this season: we're also 12-8 in league play.
but we started 7-11 before SEC play.:jeez:
OoC record now stands at 11-13
since league play started we're 16-10 in all games. pretty good turnaround.

similar to last seaons, gators are also 4-3 in SEC series in 2013

fan enthusiasm is back up big time  as we appreciate the turn around and the way the team is performing in the clutch and gutting out the wins.

Great comparison...and after going 12-8 in conference last year, UF finished 6-4 in their last SEC games, plus split their last 2 OOC games.

Looking at the remaining schedule, a similar finish is very possible....say they win today, one vs LSU and 2 vs UGA and AU. Should crush FAMU, but could slip the next day vs FAU.
Incredibly, UF is inching into the conversation to host. Still have to finish to even make sure they make the field, but a regional is now possible. Would sure love to have a couple of those blown games back, especially the finale vs Vandy.

if we win today - & sweep the vols, we'll be ahead of schedule from last year. last season we dropped the sunday game at home vs the hogs.

I like the fight in this team, and it has been fun to watch them evolve and find ways to win. Yes, they would probably love to have the Kentucky/Vandy and many others games back....but that is part of the maturation prcoess. I can tell you this, if they make a regional.....I doubt many teams will want to play them.
