You've heard it a million times, but people seem to forget - "Football isn't about the x's & o's, it's about the Jimmy's & Joe's". UF simply doesn't have the depth to withstand the injuries we've had.

Urban Meyer left the UF program 25 scholarships short of being full. Next year, after four years UF will finally have a full contingent of players. As a comparison, here are the worst of the recent scholarship reductions due to NCAA penalties:

    Penn State - 90
    USC - 30
    North Carolina - 15
    Central Florida - 15
    New Mexico - 15
    Ohio State - 9
    Boise State - 9
    South Carolina - 6
    Florida State - 6
    Oregon - 3
    Miss State - 4
    West Virginia - 3

I have mentioned this time and time again.
Urban hurt us by quitting, un-quitting and quitting again

However, at some point, you run out of excuses.

    We are at that point.

It's a dumb quote. Does Missouri have better players than us? No. They have better coaching.

For the 10,000 time, that is just not true.

Muschamp inherited nearly a full rooster... with 81 scholarship players.

We had 13 transfers after Muschamp was hired, which left us with 68 scholarship players.

How many starters or their backups are out for the year or for the Mizzu game?

    Injuries aren't excuses.

If Lebron and D Wade are injured, would Miami have a legit "excuse" to lose to other teams?

So do you guys really think injuries have no effect on the outcome of games? I don't quite understand that.

You're essentially saying the players on the field have nothing to do with who wins or loses.

Offensively? Mizzou absolutely has better players than us.. There's almost no one on our offense that would start over anyone on theirs..

Injuries are absolutely NOT excuses...... but they are valid reasons for the issues we have. Not having quality backups is another very valid reason we cannot compete this year!

I think the issue is this:

Yes injuries affect the outcome. But when has our offense looked good in Muschamp's three years? And when in recent memory has it ever looked worse? It was our lowest yardage output since 1999.
    At some point, it's systemic.

They have an effect, but our offensive performance was poor before the injuries and is extremely poor even when taking the injuries in account.

Also while we do have many injuries that hurt, some of those injuries like Driskel and Jones are not losses at all because their backups are better (which again falls on the coaches). Taylor is way better than Jones and Brown yet the coaches are obsessed with Brown and Jones before his injury.

the excuses come out whenever we get our butts handed to us

whether it's "because we gave the game away because of turnover"s or "because the previous coach left a dearth of talent"

why don't you just say "we flat out suck," take these losses like a grown man and move on

Our offense looked great as recently as two games ago vs Arky.

The last Florida coach who tried to sell line of ... nonsense ... got fired! And with good reason!

If football is only about the Jimmys and Joes, why would anyone pay head coaches two, three, four, or five million dollars a year?

We scored 23 offensive points, had 355 yards and averaged 2.8 yards per rush.
Against a team that has averaged giving up 43 points a game in conference play going into today.
