they are up 12-1.
Our potential opponents, Syracuse and Dartmouth don't play until 3p.
This is what happens when you try to stay with UF and the run and gun. UF won't likely see an up tempo game plan by their opponents after today.
Number 5 seed. Hahahahaha. Good one NCAA committee!
Yeah 16-5 final against a team that had two losses total, by one goal each.
Well, hopefully that seed is a real motivator for the ladies. I don't really understand why the sports world despises is so much. Stanford wins 500 championships a year and you never see them get screwed or see the media write bad things about them.
UF will have its work cut out playing Syracuse at their place. No doubt they are capable, hope we get a few breaks. Need to win draws and possess the ball.
Syracuse is up 19-6 inside of 15 minutes left, so we are definitely headed north.
In regard to the Gator lacrosse team, I don't think the "sports world" is against them. The fact is that the Gator lacrosse team is considered to be "nouveax riche" by the lacrosse "Establishment". The program has only been in existence three years. Jeremy Foley went up to Yale and hired ("stole") their Hall of Fame coach, Amanda O'Leary before the Gators even had lacrosse facilities. He went out and got the funding for the stadium and facilities, and then O'Leary's first recruiting class (today's seniors) was ranked number one in the country. Moreover, one of the Gators' most important advantages in recruiting, other than Coach O'Leary and the facilities, is the weather. The Establishment schools all have to face very cold Winter weather, while our team is out there practicing and playing in the Florida sunshine.
So, in sum, it's the lacrosse Establishment that has its nose out of joint at the success of the Gator program, and they damn well should be frightened. The young Gator program is knocking on their front door now, and one of these fine days will be kicking it down. It's only a matter of time before the Gator lacrosse program will sport a national championship banner.
Ok, Ladies, go whack the "Establishment" with your sticks.
one of the things i look forward to is having the premier southern lacrosse program as the sport moves south - we might well be the dominate sec program - much like tennessee dominated/dominates women's hoops - as more and more sec schools add lax.
went to the game today. then went to baseball at halftime. was going to check out the women's tennis too for a time but they had already won the doubles and were on the break between doubles and singles.
gator lacrosse is great! good crowd. good energy and our style is a fan favorite. fun to cheer for our team. fun sport to watch too. still trying to figure out some things w/ it
Sometimes the "Establishment" needs to be shaken up to keep it from getting stale. Go Gators!
so we're the BSU of LAX?
No, the officials don't cause BSU to lose a national title match like they cost us.
