Just curious of what people in the football world think of him, I don't know a lot about him other than he seems to have done a great job this year at TT. Had major injuries at QB and didn't miss a beat. I have heard reports that he's quite a coach and an impressive person.

Just curious what people know and have heard of him.

    Hire him now!!!!!!

If we don't, I am thinking USC will instead. Scary thought with the talent they get.

This isn't a hire him thread, although I'm not liking the way things are going at all, but I really am curious about him and he's intriguing .

Why do you get so defensive the second another coach is named?

This place sucks, we can't even have a convo about anything without some smart remark about " go read google ".....I thought maybe there would be someone with some insight to the guy other than google info...now I remember why I don't pay for a sub here anymore ....after years of subscriptions....

It's a football forum, dare we talk about something related, or just bitch about everything

What did you expect at 1:00am in the morning? Give it some time (as in tomorrow) and you will get plenty of answers. And if the thread lasts long enough, you may even get some Texas tech fans joining in. Or T&M fans. (Former team)

Every time someone mentions another coach, seems like you shoot it down.

    Gus Malzahn: not coming
    Petrino: not coming
    Kingsburry: not coming
    Gruden: not coming

I'm sure I missed more, but that was off the top of my head. Are you close with Foley? I assume this is just your opinion, which is fine. Just seems like you really like to defend this staff. To each their own though. Your opinions are just as good as anybody here. After all, this is a MESSAGE board.

    Carry on...

What's not to like? Innovative, young and up and coming. Reminds me of a young Urban Meyer. Think we better interview him when we are ready, but not sleep on him. He's on my final 3 list.

I never said anything about Gruden TRY AGAIN. You did miss Briles he is not coming. Who said my opinion is more valuable than anybody else?

Lol at defend this staff. I have said give them one more year if they don't get it done fire them all. I have pointed out the mistakes they made in recruiting.

People are not leaving good secure jobs to come to a place that fires coaches in 3 years one year removed from the BCS. Kingsbury is not going to leave the school he played for after one year. The man also has only been a football coach for 5 years. He is now in his first year as a head coach that was running the same offense that is has been running for over a decade. So he didnt have to make a huge offensive transition.

Maybe that is what the OP wanted to know. I like Kingsbury I liked watching him in college but he is not coming.

A guy like James Franklin makes sense. Some people have said Josh McDaniel's he would come.

If they can't get it turned around next season then Franklin is a good choice. McDaniels is intriguing as well. I think both would take the job if offered. I am sure there are some other great and realistic candidates as well.

TT is Kingsbury's alma mater doubt he will leave that place unless he does a terrible job or gets them into the NC in a couple years

Because he is right. Message board hypotheticals are one thing but acting like any of those guys are realistic options is just silly

Kingsbury is coaching at his Alma Mater, it would be hard to pull him from there. He is doing a great job there though, and that team is very, very young. Give them 2-3 years, and that offense will be absolutely scary. He played QB there also, and is known as a good QB coach. Seems to be running a similar offense that he ran while he was playing there. Guys a great up and coming offensive minded coach, and seems to want to change the culture at Texas Tech to winning championships.

Bob Stoops chose Oklahoma over his alma mater (Iowa) as well.

I agree w/ those that think Kingsbury wouldn't come to UF. The only lure for him to come to UF would have to be money, and I imagine TT can match what we're paying Muschamp (at a minumum).

Before we hire (or start looking) for a new head coach, IMO, Muschamp needs to do two things (if he's actually given the time):

    - Recruit better (on O)
    - Get a new OC, OL, and TE coach

He is eventually going to hit a wall at Texas Tech. He isn't going to be able to win his conference once Oklahoma and Texas get their act back together. I think it is pretty short sided to say he would never leave just because he is at his alma mater.
