You know, thinking about this a little more, Tennessee is a little scary. Florida and Duke are for more logical picks in terms of the quality of program, development of bigs, etc., but he has some connections to Tennessee and has been talking about them the entire time. If there is going to be a surprise, I suspect it is the Vols, not Florida.

I like Looney's game, but he appears to think he's a 3. Lots of players enter college with misconceptions, but IMO Donovan would have to push him towards a post spot.

Is Looney saying he is a SF? Everywhere has him listed as a PF.

Watching his video, he has incredible skills for a PF. But he does look a bit more of a PF than Robinson. Both guys are 6'8" and skinny, but Looney looks to have a PF frame that just needs to fill out (at least in terms of college basketball, maybe in the NBA he's a 3 but on almost no college team would be he be a 3).

Robinson seems to a wing all the way, like Corey Brewer/Chandler Parsons. Can't see him playing the 4 at all unless we are playing "small-ball".

I see Robinson as more of a Parsons type player. Long, rangy, can shoot a little, put it on the floor and rebound from the wing. He could play a little 4 when needed, but he is a natural wing player, rather than a stretch 4.

Robinson looks VERY skinny though. Not quite Corey Brewer thin, but very thin nonetheless. He's also a very perimeter oriented player. He definitely looks like a 3 all the way. I don't think anyone is projecting him as a post.

Looney on the other hand, does look like a post player - just with perimeter skills. However he looks like he has a frame of a PF where he can add some muscle.

Yeah Tennessee has a lot of playing time also. Not saying we don't, but that is probably something he has thought about. I wonder if Cuonzo Martin went in home last night with Billy D and Nate James? Anybody know?

I was thinking of the same comparison. He most reminds me of Parsons.

Looney definitely looks like more of a 4 and I would imagine that is exactly what Billy D is recruiting him for. If he wants to play the 3, I would think Tennessee would let him.

This was my initial thought heading into the summer as his recruitment started heating up, but a ton of reports this travel season have hinted at him moving to the four as he fills out (Bossi is the only guy who consistently refers to him as a wing). His handle isn't the best and he doesn't necessarily create his own shot, but his length and hops would make him very hard to defend on pick and rolls, not to mention his spot-up jumper on the pick and pop.

Regardless, these are the types of versatile kids Donovan loves (Finney-Smith, Prather, Parsons, White, Miller). He can space things for you at the four with his shot and length and he can give you big look at the three for your zone and press. Should be fun watching him develop.

WIAA waited until today to shoot down my announcement at school don't know what's goin to happen now

Not sure he's going to be making an announcement today. Not sure why they are shutting it down, but maybe he'll come up with another way to do it.

I'll never get these stupid announcements. I understand its a big moment and I understand most of the top players have them. Part of me just wishes they'd tweet @ the coach or something - send a text, let the school announce it, I don't know. This'll never happen obviously.

The last minute changes are always a concern. Everything is ready to go them someone gets in the guy's ear.

Who knows what it means but 6 of last 7 writers on 24-7 are predicting Florida. The one who went with Duke is a contributor on their site. This one going down to the wire for sure.

I dont get it either, plus throw in the fact that they usually have the gym/cafeteria filled full of other students and you have to wonder if it's the most prudent time use of school time.
