And Kerwin was his backup in 1996-97.
Seemed like KB played longer, but you are correct...
I like Bell, but I don't think he gets a shot at being OC here without being a positional coach and/or co-OC first. His best bet may be taking a low-tier FBS HC or mid-tier FBS OC job elsewhere first.
I'll simply make the observation that a Gator offense highlights video for our season wouldn't run 14 minutes like the JU reel.
It would if it included all the time we wasted before hiking the ball on each play.
That's incorrect. He was the head coach at Arkansas State when Auburn hired him.
Malzhan had a much better resume than Bell. OC at Arkansas, 2 years as OC at Tulsa (with top 5 offensive rankings), 3 years at Auburn as OC with a NC & Heisman winner, and a year as HC at Arkansas State.
It's hard to evaluate Kerwin when the only real coaching experience he has is non scholarship FCS. I know people will point to his time in the CFL, but IMO that is a completely different game. 3 downs, 12 players, 5 men in motion, 65 yard wide fields, 20 yard deep endzones, no jamming receivers, etc..
None of this means his offense wouldn't work at UF, only that it would be a huge gamble hiring a completely unproven commodity.
