With all these running backs next year, maybe we should just convert to the option because without a passing attack (including the rb) its going to be another long season in this offense. I recall quite well the Emmitt Smith years and the WM reign is looking very similar.

Agree, I thought after seeing more of him starting a few games back we would have beat Miami had he been the starter. Of course we will never know.

I think KT is the best back I have seen on this team by far and may be better than any we have had in the last 3 years. He has broke more tackles in one run several times than a couple of the others have all year total.

I do however agree that Showers and Patton helped a great deal on the perimeter. I wish we had attacked the edge more in the second half.

I wish Jones would catch more passes than run up the middle.

Proof that he couldn't do those things, or proof that was the stated reason from coaches why he wasn't #1?

When Kelvin leaves UF, I think it would be a similar, but better career than Gilly would've had if he'd been properly utilized in his Gator career (3 years starter, Demps/Rainey getting backup carries when there.)

The vision and footwork of these two are about as good as it gets for 200+ pound running backs. Not elite speed but definitely above average burst and acceleration and Kelvin's thicker.

Kelvin Taylor is essentially a souped up Mike Gillislee but isn't being wasted like Gilly was for at least a year.

Concur. I think a lot of the fans angst about KTs playing time stems from the Gilly/Joyer issue in 2011.

The difference is that some of us can see talent and think for ourselves while others put too much stock in preseason depth charts which are often used to motivate. I said he would get the second most carries this season but you kept pointing to the depth chart claiming he was 4th best behind Showers and Hern and wouldn't play. You were clearly wrong....

I dont see many broken tackles from KT. What I see is him making the proper cuts . I have seen Mack Brown and Jones break tackles. I thought Rainey did some real nice things at UF that line was horrible his last year. Gillie was good as well all about the same talent IMO. Kelvin could surpass them with added strength. Mike Davis did it for USC this off season

Gotta give you credit. I do recall you touting Taylor as the best option. I don't know how you came to that conclusion so early on though. (Practices were closed, and everyone looks great in highscool)

I don't know what you have been looking at, but yea KT does not fall down every time someone hits his leg with a arm like a couple of the other players do very often.

I am watching the games. Behind the line of scrimmage it happens with Jones but if you give him a whole and a head of steam he breaks tackles and people bounce off of him at the 2nd level. That is what I see maybe you see something different

Jones breaks tackles? Lol what games have u been watching? When did this occur this year? I think for his size it's a joke how easily he gets taken down. He either runs into his own blockers and falls down or gets tackled very easily for his size and not to mention that u would hope for someone his size that he would fall foward. Taylor breaks a lot of tackles and isn't near his size. Look at his td runs. He had the power to break thru arm tackles and the vision to make the right cuts to set up blockers or to follow there lead. I want jones to be every bit of gurley but he's more like rainy/demps without the speed lol I hope we see more Taylor and lane next year or just Taylor and throw cook in the mix to add the speed/quickness we lack

I think AZ is right. Kelvin has extraordinary lateral quickness but has to improve relative to breaking tackles. He's still awfully good for an 18 year-old true freshman running back.

Pay no attention to geo. His mission is to bash everything muschamp does. He knows nothing of what cook is doing.
