Is going to be a beast next year. The kid sees light and accelerates with amazing speed. Excited to see him progress.

He is going to improve, and he is really helping out right now.

I would say his vision is a better asset than his speed, and he runs with determination out the wazoo.

He's got to be the "most improved" player on offense this year. Has really been seeing the holes. Teams are gonna have to game plan for his acceleration and cutting ability. Still has to avoid turning into coverage but for a freshman player he is worlds ahead of 99% of other RBs.

He looked great in the first game. The improvement has been giving him the ball.

He has improved his blocking and game awareness tremendously throughout the season. Please don't turn this into another "Muschamps sucks" thread.

Exactly, the biggest developmental leap is the mental part learning to pick up blitzes, learning tendencies of opp. Players , the play book etc. That time they spend in film room is spent learning the stuff you don't see,

The kid was legit from the start....Hopefully Matt Jones doesn't take a lot of his carries next season.

I hope Matt Jones is a nice compliment to him. Would be great to have a Gurley/ marshall lacy/yeldon type thing going on.

I'd love to see a Taylor/Lane/Cook backfield. Nothing against Jones, but he is pretty average. I hope he and Mack don't see many carries next season.

He's been our best runner since he walked on the field imo.
He's a running back, on a running team, so let him run it.
No, let's wait six or seven games to let him do what he does better than any gator.
    Brilliant

He's good and still got skinny arms. I do think he may outshine his dad when he gets stronger.

Some genius on this board used to say KT won't see the field because he can't block, doesn't know the playbook and has fumblitis.

I disagree. I think a junior Matt Jones would really help out this team. I see the 1-2 punch of KT-Matt next year as our main ball carriers

Matt Jones will start next year, get 20 carries a game, and Taylor and Mack Brown will split the back-up role.

A true sophomores should never play ahead of a Senior and a Junior

I think injuries and the illness has cost Jones his starting spot...

Kelvin is better than Matt though. He should start, though now remembering who our head coach is, not sure he will start.

Which particular games did Matt Jones impress you in? With the exception of Jacksonville State last season, late against a tired FSU last season, and Kentucky this season he has been average or below average in every game. I think his entire hype is based off of those 2 games from last year, both of which were poor defenses. He rarely even breaks tackles and has bad vision so he doesn't hit the holes well. Cook right off of the bat will easily be better than Jones.

Honestly, I think Lane right now is better than Jones...and possibly even Taylor. Lane is very impressive.
