    3 carries = 1st down, every time.

While I think he is our most effective ball carrier, I think the emmitt comparison is a bit much

If he had gotten eight of Jones' 18 carries against Miami we'd have been unbeaten going into LSU.

He ran the ball well. I can't wait till he masters the art of blocking a blitzing LB.

Emmitt was young once too... and underutilized at first according to some.

I see a big future in KT as a Gator. He's got speed and moves that Brown comes close to, but Jones can't even get close to.

Kelvin Taylor has a long, long way to go to be another Emmitt Smith, but he's got that kind of potential!

nah, Emmitt wasn't underused. He was the starter by game 3 his freshman year. And rushed for more than 100 yards as a backup in game 2.

Why do people have to take comparisons so literally?

Lets put it this way, would you be shocked if Taylor got near Emmitt Smith status by the end of his college career? I know I wouldn't.

The kid seems to be really good.

To bad he won't even play next week if Jones is back. Even though he should be starting. Besides we rarely pass the ball when our run game is running well so does he need to block so much. He blocked well besides one play.

Smith set the NCAA record for most yards in his first seven games, didn't he? He was our only threat.

Kelvin looked very good today. He ran with toughness and good vision. Its a shame that it took an injury for us to see him contribute so well today. Go Gators!

E smith ran for over 200 yards on the third game of the season against Bama. Not sure yiu could say he was not utilized early on.

Emmitt was a far more complete back as a freshman than Kelvin is. Emmitt knew how to block from day one.

    Yes, for a freshman

Hence, that's why it is considered the most yards in the first seven games of a college career.
