I think we may see something special tomorrow. Not predicting a win. Just predicting a real good game.

Yes, I think tomorrow will be Kelvin Taylor time. He should get a bunch of carries and have a big day.

Don't expect him to get too many carries. Although he is by far our best runner, he doesn't have all the aspects of the offense down yet.

How hard can it be? Hopefully with a week of getting more reps he's good to go.

He will get a bunch of carries simply because Jones is out and as you say, he is our best runner. I'd suspect we see a lot of formations with Mack in on passing plays and Taylor in on more running plays.

With this offense? Just hand him a Post-It note of our three running plays and tell him to practice those three.

No way, averaging over 5 YPC isn't enough to compensate for poor ball protection. I'd rather just kneel it every down, I think we can win the Time of possession this way, which is way more important than winning the game if you ask me.

Let's don't make this too complicated. Pitch him the ball and let the kid run. This offensive philosophy makes me think the kids have no freedom. We just seemed to never have fun and turn it loose.

How hard can it be??? Did you really say that? As a RB in the SEC, I can assure you it is unbelievably hard! You are trying to get past elite athletes on every team you play. Murphy can help KT a lot by hitting a few play action passes and getting the Missouri defense back on their heels. If we can do that, and give KT room to run, we might get to see something special!

I hope KT has a big day. But pass protection is important, for those that are thinking only about ypc in the run game.

Let's say KT averages 5 YPC for five plays. Then 6th play is a pass play with a missed protection and sack for loss of 10. Now the team is way behind the chains and has only averaged 2.5 yards per play for those 6 plays.

If the sack results in a lost fumble, then we also lost the ball and 40+ yards of field position (depending on where we were on the field), with high probability of giving up a score.

    Pass protection matters.

OTOH, KT is more likely to pop a 30 yard run for us than Brown is. If we play KT, we probably need to start out even more run heavy than we have been. Then pass primarily on obvious run downs.

They have no choice. He's going to get close to half of the snaps.

I think he will bust a couple and then you'll see some other things open up.

    Great quote from Fred:

“He was excited to relieve a little pressure,” Taylor said. “He was like, 'Wow, I finally got a chance to play.' I told him, 'Yeah, but that feeling has to disappear because you lost.'"

    LOL
