agree with aka. He is our best rebounder and he needs to be inside not jacking up early bricks. He's not getting enough elevation in his jumper and the way I always coached a player who gets cold from downtown is to score a short FG and then go outside again.

I am pretty sure he has missed his last 18 3-point tries dating back to Jan. 30 at Mississippi State. That is just horrible. Not sure what is going on but even Frazier and DeVon are not as accurate. They are probably just exhausted. One thing though, we have really improved on FT shooting and that has helped compensate.

Our ft shooting and rebounding and second shots made have imo been the difference. We are not blowing out teams, we have done enough in these areas I mentioned to gain victory.

Finney-Smith has poor shooting form. Very few players have shot well when shooting off of their ear like Finney-Smith does. Chandler shot poorly when he did it (for his 1st 3 years at UF). Now that Chandler releases more from the upper center of his forehead, he has become an outstanding shooter. Finney-Smith needs to change his release point. As an aside, Matt Bonner now releases from the side of his head, but he seems to be the only player in the NBA who is doing it.

That certainly makes sense but I can't remember the last time he hit a mid range shot as well. In fact, I recall some mid range air balls and bad misses. Granted he's wide open, but he's starting to be a bit of a liability shooting.

Knowing Billy, he will probably let him keep shooting, but once the tournament starts when every point counts, if he's still slumping, he may have to be told to stop shooting.

I say keep shooting it. He's playing really well in all other areas so his overall game is fine & the only way to get out of a shooting slump is by more shooting. he's proven to be a capable long range shooter, but this is just a bad stretch for him. He'll get out of it, so he needs to shoot more. Not worried about his shooting

He did average 37% at VT on 71 attempts, which is near where was before his slump at UF, so he was able to sustain it for a while. Even with poor form, he shouldn't shooting zero percent, so something else must be happening as well.

zilch for 18?? ... wow!! Please don't shoot 3 pointers unless we have a 20 point lead .. then go for it...

Focus on short jumpers .. and maintain your strength in other aspects of the game.

One of the great things about this team is that poor shooting doesn't hurt them as much as most teams because they play such great defense.

To me its a good sign that he is shooting. I think it shows how strong the bond is on this team. I am sure he is being encouraged by his teammates and coaches to continue to shoot, regardless of result. If he misses, nobody gets down on him they just play D and get the ball back. He will break thru this wall and I'm sure he'll chip in a few big, timely scoring nights before its all said and done.

According to the stat sheet, DFS only shot five times today; all three pointers, but he broke the seal and made one. Hope that gets him off the schnide and also would like to see him get more looks closer to the basket.

The kid has a lot of talent and can do so many things.

He NEEDS to let the game come to him. and for now, lay off jacking it up, behind the arc.

Although I remain convinced he needs to continue shooting to find his way out of this slump ... boy, his shots yesterday looked bad. Even the trey he hit looked off-line but found its way in to the backboard side of the hoop.

He needed this game bad. We need the DFS that we saw about a month ago. That was the guy we saw tonight. Big game for him and I am happy for him. It had to be eating at him. He was huge tonight.

And it wasn't just the threes. He was great attacking the basket when they did bite on the pump fakes and he did a phenomenal job keeping rebounds alive at both ends.
