Scottie Wilbekin shook off an ankle sprain to lead the Gators to a 67-61 plucking of the #13 ranked Kansas Jayhawks. Scottie led the Gators in scoring, assists and steals with 18 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to earn 91 value credits. Dorian Finney-Smith got out of a season 3-point shooting slump hitting 4 of 6 while scoring 15 points and pulling down 5 rebounds for 71 value credits. Casey Prather was invisible in the first half but came in big down the stretch as the Gator's designated free throw maker hitting 10 of 12 in the second half and grabbing a team-high 8 rebounds to earn 56 value credits

The Gator zone defense was the story in the first half, holding Kansas scoreless for over 8 minutes as Florida overcame an early 10-3 deficit to pull ahead 24-10 with a 21-0 run. The Jayhawks had 16 turnovers in the first and 24 for the game compared to only 8 for Florida. That proved to be the difference as Kansas rebounded the Gators by 10, and outshot the Gators from the field (43%/37%) and free throw line (79%/59%), and had 6 blocked shots compared to 1 for Florida.

honorable mention to Prather since he's the only one who seemed to be able to drain crucial free throws.

Wilbekin was the best player on the floor last night. He owned that game.

One thing that I was very happy to see (even though there was one boo-b00) was that we seemed to have handled the issue of late game in bounding and bringing the ball up the floor in late game situations.

Thanks Jason. Insightful as usual. Was really glad to see Casey bounce back in the second half. He disappeared in the first after having his initial shot swatted by Wiggins.

Yeah, nice to have SW, Hill and Fraiser to inbound to, when D. Walker gets back, he can help too.

I agree. At one point I was starting to have flashbacks to the late-game situation at Arizona last year.

Spot on. It was his game and he was the difference. Major props to SW.

Not surprised to see DFS was a close 2nd. Before Wiggins hit those 3 shots from downtown, the matchup between the two of them was fairly even.

Oops, I messed up with DFS. Originally had him with 87 credits but realized I had him scoring 15 points on only 3 FGA! It should have been 13 FGA. After correcting this error, Dorian still comes in 2nd with 71 credits.
