If you weren't sure that the media is in Obama's pocket, just read this. If you like, I'll summarize: It is really crude, boorish, and unpresidential to laugh at jokes and snap a selfie at a funeral, unless you are Barack Obama. Apparently, you can have an extremely nuanced breakdown of the schedule of the funeral, and, due to perfect timing, what Obama did was perfectly acceptable. If GWB had done this, I doubt he would get the same treatment.

Interesting that it was written by a black woman.

Or, this is just another faux scandal predicated on nonsense claims of a double-standard.

As for this 'funeral' Let's see what was going on...

It wasnt in need of "justification" or criticism at all. More symptomatic of a bored media, who typically refuses to deal with substance.

The Obozo cult of personality praises everything he does. To them he is infallible. He could eat live children and his minions would defend it as a good act.

Or he could take a picture of himself and the other cult would criticize it as the worst thing to ever happen in American history.

Yeah, don't see an issue here. Non-story I think.

Now, if it had been the duckface / shirt off mirror shot, then all bets are off.

I'm not specifically criticizing Obama's behavior here. That is a relatively minor issue. I'm criticizing the need of this reporter to go to great lengths of twisted logic to justify it, and the decision of CNN to print it. The reporter could have ignored the story and found something of substance to print about instead.

Agreed. FWIW, CNN dealt with this last night and apparently the photographer backs up the claim that there really was nothing to this.

I mean, the guy sucks as a President, but frivolous stuff like this does nothing but undermine those in the opposition who choose to run with it, IMO.

Less is more. It is a non-story.
Someone writing an article about its appropriateness tells me her cup of desperation is full.

Sadly, this kind of stuff (selfies, tweets) tend to get the most traction. I figure people just don't want to be bothered with real thinking. Lots of issues that could be covered in depth, but nobody is interested. Sad. Just very, very sad.

No big deal from the side that went apoplectic over "binders full of women" and a radio guy calling an activist a slut. Also the side that didn't like Reagan and Bush 43 wearing cowboy boots, and Bush 43's pronunciation of nuclear. Or that Bush 41 didn't know how a grocery scanner worked. Or that Romney had a two-story garage. Or that Ann Romney was a stay at home mom.

    Yeah, nothing to see here.

Again, if Bush, or god forbid Palin, had done this sort of thing and not been accompanied in act by the one who rolled back the seas, this would have been a huge story.

I think that this (or anything like this) is just an example of the vapidity of our society as a whole. Not really an (R) or (D) thing. Smacks of Kardashian-ism.

The more important question here is if the liberal media is willing to go this length to justify a minor etiquette violation, what else are they willing to cover up? Does this reporter work for CNN, or for Obama?
