By: Gator Country StaffLet's get the tough part out of the way. We reported that Jay-Nard Bostwick was among five Florida players suspended for game one against Toledo. It turns out that the information was correct on the other players, but inaccurate regarding Bostwick and for that, Gator...

IMO, and likely in Coach Muschamps too, its over and done. No doubt Coach took advantage of a chance to show he's staunchly in the corner of his players.

Dare to explain the details of the goof though, Senior Solari?

Ray owes none of US an explanation at all. He publicly apologized for something which he likely had no part in. Someone else made a mistake--Ray took the initiative to say GC made an error. Enough said--he owes none of US in here a reason or story behind it.

Ray did good. We are appreciative.

It happens. Mistakes happen. Just like when the coaches screwed up today on that punt down and had too many men on the field because they tried to make some crazy substitutions.
    Mistakes happen. That's life.

    Look:

You have to DELETE THE FIRST PARAGRAPH!

It's sloppiness now, or "we just don't care" when on 9/1 at 130 PM the article STILL says ... STILL ... after the ass chewing ... a 1line update with the wrong info showing up a day later

UPDATE: Jay-nard Bostwick has not been suspended. For more, read here.

Gator Country has learned from multiple sources that five players will be suspended for the 2013 season opener against Toledo. Junior cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy, junior defensive tackle Darious Cummings, sophomore wide receiver Latroy Pittman, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Quinteze Williams and freshman defensive tackle Jay-nard Bostwick will all be sidelined after reportedly breaking team rules prior to the game.

what possible explanation could there be for having that WRONG information still on the page?

As a rule, we don't change up stories after the fact because it would look like we're covering up our mistakes. We posted an apology/retraction story and posted an update and link to it in the original story.
