    Huh?

I think the NCAA is now just running scared - so petrified of doing something wrong that they've pretty much decided not to do anything at all.

Yep. If Billy wants to start paying players, now seems to be the time.

On an unrelated note, Erving Walker hitting a circus shot over Josh Smith in the second round game a couple years ago is still one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

It's the NCAA. It's not supposed to make sense.

Maybe they're giving him a medical hardship based on being far too out of shape to play basketball effectively

Didn't Erving completely disappear inside of Smith's gut, only to reappear and bank in a 10-footer?

Exactly, everyone who has played in a few enough games should have their MD certify they had a hangnail or something that prevented them from playing.

That's how I remember it. Walker drove in, bounced off the mountain, then hit something he had no right hitting.

    And hey, here's video!

Its like Smith's midsection absorbed Walker's momentum and propelled him backward into some zone where time is slowed almost to a stop. Walker probably looked around to see that everyone was practically frozen in place - making it a fairly easy shot if you think about it.

The margin of difficulty is increased, however, when you take into account that Walker was drawn to that space by the gravitational pull surrounding Smith's ass.

The gravitational pull on Erving was enhanced by the fact that Smith was eating a taco.

Hmm, maybe there was a taco in his belly button.

Great play though...one of my favorites.

Well this thread has certainly taken a strange turn. I guess we can probably attribute that to the gravitational pull of Smith's ass, as well.
