    Ruh Roh

A career that featured plenty of downs to go with the ups has come to an end for Josh Harvey-Clemons, at least at Georgia.

In a very brief statement released Tuesday afternoon, UGA announced that the sophomore defensive back has been dismissed from the football program. The only reason given was, of course, a violation of unspecified team rules.

In mid-January, and amidst rumors that he had been dismissed, it was announced that Harvey-Clemons had been suspended for the first three games of the 2014 season. While the stated reason was again the standard team rules violations, it was subsequently reported that the defensive back had twice violated the school’s drug policy, triggering the automatic suspension.

Prior to the Gator Bowl, head coach Mark Richt confirmed in late December of last year that Harvey-Clemons had been suspended for the postseason game. Additionally, Harvey-Clemons was suspended for the 2013 opener following a marijuana-related incident in the offseason.

When not receiving his mail in Richt’s doghouse, Harvey-Clemons was one of the Bulldogs’ top players on the defensive side of the ball, finishing the 2013 season third in tackles.

Harvey-Clemons was a heralded five-star member of UGA’s 2012 recruiting class, rated as the No.2 athlete and the No. 31 player at any position in the country.

It's kind of like rattling in deer; for every one deer you see, there are Atleast five you don't see.

Feel bad for the guy. Evidently he has some drug problems. Hopefully he can get some help and get it taken care of. Then he may get a chance somewhere else.

Too bad he couldn't of tipped a few the Gators way this past year, then I would say he is the best Dawg ever.

Weed isn't a "drug problem". It's a lack of self discipline.

Well technically weed is not a drug, it is a natural remedy, but I understand what your saying. If a team, or a workplace says you can not smoke weed then do not smoke, it is that simple. Therefore, your right it is a lack of self discipline.

He needs to get help regardless. People may not get addicted to weed itself, but mentally many get addicted to the euphoria/high. Weed these days is a lot different than it used to be. The potency is much higher.

Personally, I don't smoke but I don't have issues with those that do. Like it was posted earlier, if it's against the rules or your work policy to do then don't do it!

I just always hate to see a young man piss away an opportunity to better his life, regardless of what school he plays for. (No pun intended.)

The law against pot has harmed more lives than using it.

The only plant on earth that science could not use fully.
Even the hemp plant that can make cheaper paper and great rope was banned until recently so the high nutrition of the seeds are now sold.

As you know...the henp that produces rope, paper & cloth is a differenr species of canabis.
As an example...I use hemp oil everyday to control diabetes.

Shouldn't be illegal, and players shouldn't be doing it if team rules say not to.
