It's all over that the Bucs are benching Freeman for Mike Glennon, 3rd round pick from NC State.

Glennon isn't the answer, imo, but as a Bucs fan who never wanted Freeman to begin with, I am glad they finally made the move.

Of course, ex-Buc Booger McFarland keeps banging the drum that the issues aren't because of Freeman, but due to lack of creativity in play calling and that Schiano is to blame because of his coaching style.

Freeman's biggest problems appear to be his inability to be consistently accurate and he isn't known for putting in a lot of extra time like the good ones seem to (I guess you could call it work ethic).

At any rate, glad to see the change. It's been a long time coming.

Glennon is terrible but Freeman has no interest in being a Buc, so it's probably a smart move.

Bucs should get a quality qb in next draft

Now get rid of him. Hes going to become a cancer in the locker room in short order if you keep him around.

Oh, and tank for the #1 pick! Beating out the Jags will be tough, but I have faith in the bucs' ability to suck

Jags and Bucs tanking for Bridgewater. I think it is a good idea to play Glennon, see what you get out of him. Can't be any worse than freeman, and if he is good, they can build around him maybe...maybe.

It is a real risky move. Bring in a rookie and you risk losing all the vets in the locker room. I've never been as down on Freeman as some others, but he has hardly been lighting it up. He can't even hit 50% of his passes. They have plenty of offensive playmakers around him in Jackson, Williams, and Smith--far more than Brady has.

As for Glennon, I guess we'll see. He wasn't terrible in what I saw, but preseason is preseason.

My new web site. The Bucs clearly are on track for another losing season so the rest of the games mean nothing except for position in the draft. So my hope is we lose them all or at least enough to get the 1st pick, which we could use to take Bridgewater.

I don't follow the NFL that closely but it looks like our main competition is the Raiders, possibly the Jets tho they already have a win, maybe the Browns. But I'm not sure anyone else has the problems the Bucs have so I think we're in great shape to keep on losing.

Well mcfarland isn't wrong either. The schiano hire was a terrible decision as was wasting a pick on freeman

My issue is that he lays little to no blame on Freeman and almost all of the blame on the coach. I don't think either are the right fit, but Freeman flat out stinks.

Had to take a break from the Easley thread, wow its getting deep over there. I'm was so happy to hear that they finally benched the int machine that is Josh Freeman. Glennon isn't the answer either, but can't be any worse than Freeman. Hopefully we can lose out and get a decent QB in this coming draft. I wouldn't mind getting Bridgewater, or Murray I know he is a dawg but he is a good qb. Schiano I don't think will make it through this transition.

I know he wasn't amazing, but why did they get rid of Raheem Morris again? I thought he was learning on the job, but could potentially be pretty good.

may or may not be true. either way, the Bucs need to find out what they have in him and if he might develop into an acceptable back-up, if not starting material.

The Bucs have (nearly) always had a loser mentality. Culverhouse's main concern was the $$$, which the Bucs were near the top in profits, but bottom in W-L record. The Glazers wan the cheapest coach they can find and that's showing up in the W-L record.

Freeman will be lucky to be in the league within a couple of seasons. Hope he saved some money.

Bucs and Jags racing for Teddy B. Tampa has a winnable game this week vs Arizona, I hope they pull it off.

That makes perfect sense when you remember what an elite QB Freeman was until Schiano came along and ruined him.
