It's human nature. They had a shot for all the marbles and had to settle for an exhibition game. I'm disappointed but I don't blame him or them. Our fans reacted the same way. Look forward to seeing Josh on the Jags.

It was Louisville. Sigh. Still, we should have put up more of a fight than that. I doubt they cared that much. (The team)

When you have a good team with nothing to lose playing a better team with nothing to gain, my money's on the underdog.

I believe that. That was some uninspired football. Louisville is good but not that good.

I know as a fan I have always felt the same way. I could care less about the bowl game if it's not the NC game. The players have too many distractions. Half of them are thinking about getting a paycheck from the NFL and the other half are just enjoying the new sights in whatever city they are in.

Louisville was far more "invested" as Urban would say. They played an inspired game - it was a NC effort for them. We should have looked at some of our lesser opponents last year and anticipated as much regarding relentless effort on every play. We were truly outplayed, out executed, out prepared and out coached in the Sugar.

Check Louisville's schedule this year. They should roll through the regular season if Bridgewater stays healthy. They have the only schedule I've observed that's weaker than FSU's.

They underestimated their opponent and came into the game without the necessary fire in their belly. They turned it over and witnessed an upset from a team with less talent. I hope the boys who remain on the team remember the feeling and learn from it going forward. I know the coaches won't want to endure that feeling in the off season when they are recruiting and facing the inevitable questions about it during the Gator club tours. You work all year to play 14 games at the most, learn to get up each time you get to lace them up.

It's no big deal. We just got our a$$es beaten by a middling program. Nothing to get upset about. Great season.

Hahahaha I remember when GATORAZ I think it was and a few more on here bashed the hell outta me for saying they packed it in early and didn't try. But now they probably will agree with Evans saying that.

No excuses, I understand don't get me wrong. They weren't happy about playing in the sugar bowl, but I blame this on the coaches (I'm also a big fan of our staff) the coaches are responsible for getting the team prepared.

They had a shot at finishing 12-1 and #2 in the country after Bama or ND lost the champ game. Would've made a strong case for 2 SEC teams always being considered for the playoff.

It's easy to condemn the players for coming in a bit lazy. And I have done my share of condemning.

But let's look at it from their perspective. How many sports have a 5-6 week break during the season? None. As an athlete you get into a rhythm during the season but once the season is over that is obviously gone. I imagine it would be tough to summon it back up for one game.

Then add in the distractions, our high number of seniors, etc. It's little wonder that many teams come into bowls uninspired.

I don't excuse our performance, but IMO the problem is with the bowl system- it's broken. College football needs to do better.

There were many factors of why that game turned out the way that it did. This was just one of them.

I still don't like hearing it because it's either an excuse or it makes our players/fans sound like a bunch of spoiled brats that didn't get what they wanted. Whatever happened to playing every game like it's your last?
