Exactly. Does anyone really think that if Horford wants to come here and we want him to come here that a grad department won't make it happen?

The guy has written all kinds of stuff for their newspapers/bogs and he said he wants something English related. Maybe he ends up in the college of journalism - because I am pretty sure you can major in English at Michigan. IMO his stuff is well written.

Horford will likely visit UF, UCF, UConn, and ND before deciding. I don't know if he plans to make any visits before he graduates in May.

This is very interesting. English. The most important way to appear educated and intelligent is to be either or both of "well spoken" and/or "well written."

Most people aren't aware of the fact that the majority of high school principals were English teachers, not those trapped in a highly structured science discipline or as many think, coaches.

Very good for this year coming up but I don't know about the following year. We will be losing Harris, Walker, and Horford and possibly DFS. That is our entire frontcourt. Would be good to get a young big started in there sonnet rather than later, but as always, trust in Billy.

As many transfers as there are every year now, we'll be fine.

Mitch McGary has announced he is entering the draft after filing a drug test (weed) during the NCAA tournament. The NCAA suspended him for all of next year. Not sure how this affects anything.

No clue...latest rumor is he will take 3-4 visits first...he really does not need to be in a hurry...just has to be on a campus by Mid June...he has time to make the right decision

I would see him being a Will Yeguete type player in regards to the numbers he could give the Gators. Not someone that is gonna set the nets on fire but a good rebounder and defender, getting an occasional bucket here and there.

there is still a lot of uncertainty with our two biggest guys Harris and Chris Walker. My guess is that even if they are both effective, he could get 20 min per game

Yes, Horford is good enough to play for and will play for UF if he transfers in. He's been diminished in Michigan's guard oriented offense, but he will flourish in UF's offense. My guess is he has the potential to be a good rebounder/shot blocker, effective on the back of the press, and a 10 point per game scorer. He's got a good looking mid-range jump shot and I think Billy D. will green light him to shoot it.

IMO, having Horford and Harris for the 5 will free up Chris Walker to play the 4 which will be what he will play at the next level.

I see the front court this way:

    Harris/Horford
    C. Walker/Murphy
    Finney-Smith/Robinson/D. Walker

Finney-Smith will rotate at the 3 and 4 until Murphy becomes eligible at the end of the fall semester.

I don't see this team backing down from anybody in the nation. Horford will be the added ingredient that could propel UF back to the Final Four with a chance to win it all. For Horford, he gets to showcase his talent for the next level which is the reason for his transfer in the first place.

    Jon Horford transfers to Florida
    Updated: April 26, 2014, 11:50 AM ET
    By Jeff Goodman | ESPN.com

Florida has added Michigan junior big man Jon Horford, a source close to the situation told ESPN.

The 6-foot-9 Horford averaged 3.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season. He will be eligible to play this year for coach Billy Donovan and the Gators.

Horford is the younger brother of former Gators standout and current Atlanta Hawks star Al Horford.

Florida loses senior big men Patric Young and Will Yeguete. Horford could vie for a starting spot next to sophomore Chris Walker.

Florida also brings in talented 6-foot-9 freshman Devin Robinson and will add Duke transfer Alex Murphy -- likely in December.

SAT/GRE scores only account for a small amount of variance in GPA because schools accept students from the same range of scores that is pretty narrow. If Harvard were to accept an equal number of students for every score, then the correlation would jump up to be much much higher and probably the variable that would explain the variance the most.

Since each school only accepts similar students, of course the scores won't explain much, but that doesn't mean they're worthless.
