He may not even be leaving SJU.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman says Florida is in the mix for Horford.

In Franz's basketball recruiting update today, he made mention of Jeff Martin transferring from Villanova as the only graduating transfer that makes sense for UF. I don't disagree with Franz very often, but if Jeff Goodman is right and other insiders have said Horford is a possible yes, I think Horford makes a lot of sense and especially so with the strong likelihood of Tre Mourning going to Georgetown.

I would love to see us get another post player, and Horford has size, which we will need to counter UK next season.

Who are the other schools being mentioned as possible destinations for Horford?

Haven't seen a definitive list in the few articles discussing his transfer. Latest quote I found was that in addition to Florida, "there's a few schools in the mix." That article indicated the interest between Florida and lil Horf was mutual.

Horfords tourney experience could help us next year, being we have a younger core. He could be a good leader in the locker room. Seems as far as one year fits, he makes a lot of sense.

Yep...he is a grown ass man with a couple very deep NCAA tournament runs under his belt. Invaluable addition if it comes to pass.

So would he start at the 5 with Walker at the 4?

Would he for sure start over Harris (if Harris keeps his act together)?

Honestly seems like a better fit for us than him if he's looking for a lot of minutes.

But heck I'd love to have him.

My guess would be Harris, Chris Walker and DFS as the front court starters with Horford, Murphy and Devon Walker coming off the bench, but who knows?

Harris is such a wildcard next year. He could either be off the team or lead the conference in blocked shots. And as freakishly talented as Walker is, I would be surprised if he weighs more than 225 at the start of next year.

That makes Jon Horford a welcome addition.

    5 Harris/Horford
    4 Walker/Murphy
    3 Finney-Smith/Robinson

DeVon Walker will have find his minutes with the guards or at the 3 if foul trouble/injuries dictate.

I can see Billy Ball giving every team we play 40 minutes of hell. Looks to me like 2014-15 could be another special season with the sky being the limit.

Not sure why you would assume Robinson would play ahead of Devon, at least at the 3.

Once Devin learns the O, IMO he will play ahead of Dwalk, who is just not that great...other than a 7-8 game stretch where he made some 3's, he was a non factor all season...Devin is a special talent, a future pro IMO...

Horford coming as a grad student means that he will have to meet UF's Grad School minimum standards for GRE scores and GPA and have a department that wants him. I hope that this isn't an issue if he wants to come here.

As with Bullis, I'm extremely high on Robinson. Wouldn't be shocked if he is starting by the end of the year (or at least given a bunch of minutes), with DFS pushed to the 4.

Depends how he picks up the defensive side of the game. That's obviously hugely important to Billy when handing out minutes.

Devin is def a future pro, maybe a future all-star. Obviously a long way to go, but he has all the requisites.

Well, seeing Jon went to UM, which is no academic slouch either, I think he'll be fine.
