Seems Boehner is either worried about his own position or the Rep party has a big rift in it right now.

He should be worried about his own position because he sucks at it.

That pretty much means its passing, even if Pelosi has to deliver some votes.

The only real plausible angle is that the brain trust in the party thinks they can win in the longer term if they lose this battle but continue to hammer ACA before the elections. Personally I think they are giving up ground that they won't make up. If they want to be the majority party they need a message that isn't negative to the Dems (see 1994 contract with America). But I don't see the American public caring much about anything.

    I love politics.

Last 5 years: "We havent passed a budget in 5 years, and I'm furious!"

Budget deal reached: "I'm furious that we're about to pass a budget!"

The things that go on in DC are great for increasing the amount of meds Americans need.

First of all this "budget deal" has to be voted on. He is right about the 5 previous years.

Pelosi with another EPIC quote - "Embrace the suck" - regarding the budget. This women makes MTV people look live rocket scientists. If Palin said all the things Pelosi has, someone in the media would be inspired to started a 24/7 Palin channel.

Political satirists should just have Pelosi-cams.

funny how some claim that both parties are useless and opposite sides of the same coin but then will jump all over any group that tries to instill some financial discipline in one party to separate it from the other. Boehner is upset that somebody is trying to upset the status quo...damn terrorists, who do they think they are trying to hold people accountable and do what they were elected to do?

Okay I dislike her a lot...but that is a fantastic quote....."Embrace the Suck"

They should put it on a T-shirt with a picture of the Capitol below the writing.

Boehner needs to go along with John McCain, and Chris Christie and join the democratic party. The repubs need a shakeup, and let the conservative wing take over.

Boehner's point is actually fair - nihilism doesn't work when you actually have to govern. Not compromising means you get nothing and get the blame. At some point, even if many of those groups have very valid points, iodeological purity at the expense of any compromise is a losing strategy.

If he is spineless it's not showing in his calling out of his own party members.
