I pray SDSU is a high seed in our bracket honestly. They shoot 37 percent from the field. With our defense, they will almost certainly go under that average. We will too of course, but I like our chances vs a team who consistently struggles to score in half court sets. Especially now that we have another big to rebound for us.

The S curve is nothing more than a different name for the RPI. As of today (1/30) the S curve (or RPI) is as follows-
1-Kansas, 2-Ariz, 3-Villanova, 4-Mich St. 5-Syracuse, 6-Florida, 7 Wich. St., 8-UMass, etc. etc .etc. The committee uses the S curve when filling in the seeds in different brackets as close as possible except where there are conflicts (same conference, etc) Florida was a 5 early in the week but dropped to 6 because of other teams games played this week. Geography is taken into consideration for seeds 1 through 4. That's how we end up in Orlando.

    Um ... no.

The S-curve is a composite of the rankings of the committee members. If there are brain dead ones they will use RPI to rank the teams. Some might use AP, USA Today, various flavors of Sagarin, Pomeroy, wild ass guesses, etc., to determine their rankings.

Don't worry about it. The committee is much more reasonable than the media. They wouldn't give Kansas a higher seed than us if we both win out. I promise you.

While it might be nice to discuss there is still over a month of bb to play yet. Lots of things can happen between now and then.

    UT.

Wichita State beat them at home by single digits.

Far, far, far too early to make projections on things like that. Although, midway through the conference schedules, one is beginning to get an idea of how things might actually end up, so, I guess it is not an unreasonable time to do this.

This years Gators, as always, face the toughest part of the SEC schedule toward the end of the season, which increases the probabilities of late losses.

Would note that our two losses occurred when several of our starters and/or key contributors suspended and/or injured. We were a shell of our current squad when we lost those two, and even then, both losses were down to the last minute (including a last second miracle buzzer beater to UCONN by one of the National POY candidates)

We've had two: Alabama and Tennessee. They beat Alabama on the road by 5...we beat them by 6. They beat Tennessee at home by 11, we crushed them by almost 30. It'll be hard for us to beat them to a #1 seed if they finish undefeated; but with even one loss, they likely drop back to a 2 seed given their SOS and RPI.

Looking over the bracket, I agree. The one team that would scare me is Louisville as a 4 seed. I could see us squaring off in the elite 8 against Pitino again.

True, playing in the weak-ass SEC is not going to help us, it will only hurt. Should we split with UK and UT and not win the SEC tournament, don't be surprised to see a 3 seed. Split with UK and win the remaining regular season games should keep at a 2 seed. Depending on what the other top teams do, we might have to win out and make it to the SEC finals to garner a 1 seed.

Plus, its not like we're scaring anyone in the SEC. We're winning, but not dominating.
