I'm as much for gun control and anti-violence as the next guy, but this is a movie and these characters are fighting against the bad guys. He knew what it was about before he signed on.

I think there should be a clause in contracts that prevents stuff like that. Also would apply to Angus from 2.5 Men.

On a side note, I saw the trailer over the weekend and this movie should be fantastic. Carrey's character is great!

If you anti-gun people ever get your way and the only people on the planet who are allowed to have guns are governments you will NOT like the results.
And I don't watch Jim Carrey movies much. Stupid just doesn't entertain me.

It's hard to remember the spelling when you've stopped watching his movies. I don't fault people who like him. Clearly a lot of people like both. I just don't enjoy silly comedy. Not a big Adam Sandler fan although he has done some stuff I did really like. And for that matter I thought Jim Carrey was great as the Riddler.

I'm surprised the studios don't have a clause in their contracts preventing negative comments like these. I guess if you're a big enough star, the studios don't want to make too many demands that would keep you from signing on. I had to sign a contract never to make any negative public comments about my company. However, I don't have to say anything positive about them either.

He made sure the check cleared before talking out.
He should donate the whole paycheck to a anti violence group if he really disagrees.
    Or just shut up.

I hate it when foreigners try to tell us how we should do things in our own country. It'd be one thing if it were a dictatorship whose government and laws did not reflect the will of the people. That is not the case. It is a democracy. Gun ownership is a constitutional right.

I get it that that is not a right in Canada. This is not Canada. We do not wish to be Canada. We are America. We are different and we are happy just the way we are. I don't come to Canada and tell you how you should live or what your laws should be. Kindly show me the same courtesy in my country, Jim.

put another way...how do I somehow KNOW for a metaphysical certainty that were I, an American, to go to Canada and tell them that they were wrong and bad and or backward/primitive/dumb etc to not have gun ownership as a right in their country, a whole crap-ton of Canadians would be up in arms about that...would call me arrogant (among other bad names) and would say that if I didn't like it, I could get my butt the hell out of their country?

Will ANYBODY even try to deny that what I just wrote in that last paragraph is the god's honest truth? You know it is. Why should it be any different for foreigners coming to America and doing exactly the same? Isn't that just base cultural and national chauvinism on their part? I think it is. Lord knows we'd get accused of it if the tables were turned.

I've got an idea. Why doesn't he just take his ass back to Canada if he prefers their laws so?

He is NOT an American citizen.

He does NOT get a vote.

    Nor should he. EVER.

Apparently they filmed a scene where a 20 yr old character shot and murdered a bunch of elementary school children prior to Sandy Hook. They supposedly removed it from the film.
