Sorry if this has been posted already but I read an article that said Jeff Driskel could go for a medical redshirt giving him another 2 yrs as a Florida Gator QB. I did not see anywhere that he took that medical redshirt yet. Does anyone know officially if he took it? If he takes it, how does this affect Will Griers's decision to redshirt? And finally, would you want another 2 yrs of Jeff Driskel leading this team?

That means in 2014, the competition would be between Murph (Sr) and Driskel (Jr.)

Then in 2015, if Driskel sticks around it would be between Driskel (Sr) and Grier (RS Fr.)

Better than having just one option. May the best man win.

Worst case scenario for Grier, assuming he redshirts, is he starts in 2016 as a redshirt soph with three years to play.

If a freshman is better, he gets the starting slot. It is up to the players to decide who starts.

I agree, but I don't trust this staff to start the best players on offense.

I knew JD was redshirting... And it's a good thing to have three good QB's to choose from next year and two the following year.

Hope he never starts another game.

Murphy has proven to be as capable. I actually think, having had to play Murphy, this gives UF some real "options" next season. With two healthy, read-option capable QB's you could run a spread offense with little fear.

I welcome the day Florida has 2 good QB's and when one goes down, we don't miss a beat as there is no drop-off.*

*See what happened at Missouri and the team is playing just as well as they were when they had their starting QB. Maty Mauck is a baller. Look at the numbers he put up against Florida for example as a back-up QB.

In light of the poor OL blocking, JD like TM, has been hindered. True, JD needs to move when sensing pressure, but he is much better than most fans give him credit. I hope JD makes a full and speedy recovery and may the best man win.

I agree. Just look at the tight ends, how much worse can the backups possibly be then who is starting now? And it took them until half way through the season to start Kelvin.
