Just got in a little quarrel with Barlis on twitter. Iv always enjoyed Barlis reporting but as of late he seems to enjoy highlighting negative bs such as a game day sign saying Florida is a bottom-tier SEC team. Why would an Espn reporter even see that significant, it's a sign. Things like that affect us in recruiting and Barlis sure likes to nit pick negativity. I feel like their should be more Gators standing up for this team via social media. Recruits see these things, it's important to for them to know at times like this that GatorNation is still standing tall.

He blocked me long ago. The guy bashed the Gators constantly. Doesn't make sense. He's the reason I would never subscribe to ESPN Gator site. Goldkamp does the same thing on Twitter. Making fun of the Gators despite being a "writer" for a Gator site.

It's ridiculous. I guess they don't let Gators report due to bias, but it seems to be backfiring, with these idiots trashing us every chance they get.

    8-5
    7-6
    11-2
    4-5

Since that great run we had. If you were to look at that it is easy to conclude that last year was an anomaly

We are in a down cycle right now.

Of course we are, but no need for Reporters highlighting insignificant negativity. That doesn't benefit us or them, we don't need any help to look bad.

Jeff's still writing? Who does he write for?

That's awesome. Since I didn't know he was writing, I don't know what he writes. But it's cool that he still has a gig. While I'm tracking downy the old staff, I know Ira Scholffel is the beat writers for the Noles at the democrat, Doyel's Doyel, Marvez is Marvez. I think Ron Kaspriske's an editor at Golf World. A couple other like me gave it up. Anyone know anything about Keith Neibuhr?

    He writes for ESPN.

It's the typical reactive "don't want to look like a homer, gotta rail on the home team" approach.

It's the sign of an insecure writer.

Although it's probably more accurate to call him a writer for ESPN's minor leagues. They have a lot of school beat reporters. He probably makes less money than he did at the Sun.

We got into a nice tweet match. He's definitely not a big name, it was very apparent in the way he responded to my criticism

Anyone heard anything from a Sharon Ginn? SOS used to love her.

Yes he is worthless. Wonder if you send those tweets to ESPN, if they would tolerate that.

Of course they would. They'd probably retweet the retweets. They hate us.

Believe me, UF is better represented at ESPN than any other school.

Literally every fanbase thinks ESPN hates them.

I mean, I don't know exactly what the problem is with Barlis, but it seems utterly impossible to cover this team accurately without coming off as negative. It's an overwhelmingly negative situation.

Your right, but he made a big deal out of a random game day sign. That kind of negativity can be avoided, and should be avoided. Especially on social media. We're all frustrated with this season, seeing our own reporters highlighting things like that is salt in the wound.

I e-mailed Barlis a simple question and he didn't bother to respond. Seems like a loser on many levels.

They're not "our" reporters. They don't work for UF or the football team. Their job is not to shill for the program or hide negativity.

They still, as far as mainstream media, represent our program. It's ludicrous to highlight a Completely random gameday sign that says we are bottom tier. Why? What is his goal with that? Especially on a game day. Is that the level of his reporting? A gameday sign on the day we play South Carolina. Lol. That's a joke.
