It's way too early to determine if Murphy > Driskel

I love what Murph brings to the table and how he's looked thus far

but let's be honest, there's not a lot of game film on him and he hasn't faced any legit teams.

jeff had his long list of shortcomings, but let's not forget he had some huge quality wins against tough competition on his resume

if murphy is able to get us by LSU and maybe even UGA i'll have to re-assess whether he's better tho

Lol. No it's not. Not even to a blind man. Jeff never played this good against any patsy.

And what do you mean, no game film? We're basically running the same scheme and plays. This QB just throws to open recievers, has better pocket awareness, is more cool under pressure, and scrambles better. It's not like we started running the GT triple option.

    What a strange thread.

All I know is we're 7 of 7 in the redzone.

Not bagging on Jeff, but I really like what I see so far from this Irish guy we have at QB now.

Yeah it's not even close really. Driskel had one great game against Tennessee last year. Murphy just delivered back to back games which were as good or better better than any of his other dozen or so games.

    This is all true.

I know its not painful watching our offense right now. That is enough for me.

I trust the coaches and obviously they thought Driskel gave UF the best chance...

Murphy's decision making and instincts seem better than Jeff's right now, my guess is that Driskel had the physical tools and was really putting in the time and effort to improve , and the coaches thought that Jeff would improve his decision making more quickly than he has...

also Jeff's bad knee took away the one thing he did excel at, his scrambling..

It seems pretty obvious to me that Tyler is better at running this offense than JD. JD may have a higher ceiling as a player but the team has a higher ceiling with TM at the helm, if that makes any sense.

One of things that they implemented since Murphy has been in the game is the read option in the redzone. Some of us were calling for it after the Miami game. Not sure Jeff could have ran it with his knee injury. TM mobility has helped this team a lot. That being said we have played two horrible football teams.

I do too. No way they saw only what we see and still play JD.

I have no doubt Jeff lit it up in practice. Either that, or Murphy stinks in practice. But all that matters is how a QB plays on Sat. That's why I have no problem with coaches giving all players a chance when the starter isn't getting it done. It sucks having a diamond in the rough on the bench when you're watching a lump of coal struggle under the bright lights.

so if Jeff Driskel was QB against Kentucky last night, you don't think we win?

again, Murph looked great last night, but you're ready to crown him better than a QB who led us to tough road wins at Texas A&M and FSU, a demolition of South Carolina and a win against one of the best teams in country in LSU?

Haha. Of course we win. Jeff could not attempt a pass and we win. I bet you UK would have recorded a couple of sacks, though. Maybe an untimely fumble by Jeff when he didn't see the rush coming. Who knows. I don't think he makes either throw to Burton or Dunbar.

Jeff was 18-27 last year for 200 yds. and rushed for 35 yds on 8 carries. At home. Took 3 sacks and threw a pick as well.

Yeah, I'll take Murphy's performance on the road in his first game.

Oh, and LSU? He passed for 61 yds and got sacked 5 times! We won with great D and Mike Gillislee in spite of Jeff's QB play. The same way we won all 11 games last yr. except against UT when he played really well.

1000% the same here. For the first time since Tebow left, I'm excited about getting the ball back. That's not a lie. It's the complete truth.

Did people forget that Jeff had great games against UT, Kentucky, USC, and Vanderbilt last year with a worse pass-protecting o-line an worse receivers? And people were ready to annoint him then.

I would love to know why the staff chose Brisett over Driskel.

People just want to be excite about the offense which is fine, but they should do it with caution.

Murphy has made one bad decision in 7 quarters. ONE. I don't need to see him pick apart Alabama to know we have a good QB.

It's crazy because fans were drooling over Jeff after the UT game last year and then Andre Ware basically slobbered all over Jeff during the Kentucky game.
