Cupcakes help us in many ways, believe it or not. It's not just money, but it gives our team a mini preaseason before the SEC schedule hits. Every year we've won a title, or got to the big game, we played some cupcakes. Also, without those cupcakes, some fans would never get to see their gators play live. Tickets are usually easy to find. It gives lower income families an opportunity to enjoy some gator football. Just my opinion though.

Keep in mind we are helping these cupcakes too. As I understood we are honoring the agreement to pay Idaho $975,000 which will help them immensely.

Yeah, that's pretty weak. They basically took our money and we got nothing for it. Sucks, but what can we do? Time for EMU.

One more benefit to cupcakes- it gives walk-ons a chance to get on the field- some for the only time in their career.

I heard a football coach speak- he was the head guy at the Citadel at the time. His son, inspired by Chris Leak's commitment at the AA game, decided to walk on on to UF. He toiled in obscurity for years, and then had a terrible injury. He could have quit, could have transferred, but did not.

Finally, in his last year, after months of rehab, he got on the field vs Western Carolina (in 06.) It meant the world to the player, and to the family. It was a great story- and will be re-told hundreds of times with our team featured prominently. Now multiply that by 1000- and you have a recipe for goodwill that money cannot buy.

Oh please. Every single one of those teams you mention from "this week" plays cupcakes. I believe fsu plays the citadel.

IMO, playing two cupcakes to start the season is perfect. Get suspensions out of the way and afford additional practice time for the offense and defense before starting conference play.

Georgia Southern is not really a cupcake. They give teams hell with that offense.

    So much for
They certainly confused one defensive genius.
But he got even when his OL blocked each other.

Over/under on how long the teammates blocking each other thing gets tossed around here? 5 years? 7? 10?:D
