Uh, yeah Todd McShay spelled out the criteria and they were also mentioned in my original post. You can make it whatever color you want. I said it because I started the thread. It's most valuable player, not most outstanding player.

    Here's a link to the article: http://insider.espn.go.com/college-...ing-10-most-valuable-players-college-football

I get your point, but this is what this thread is about:

To those who are downplaying his performances against Tenn and UK, because they are Tenn and UK, you are wrong. The kid never completed a pass in college football and gets thrown into the fire in the middle of the sloppiest game we had played in a long, long time and makes it into an entirely different game and we win easily.

I understand wanting to see him prove himself against better defenses, but if you're hoping for Tyler Murphy to become Danny Wuerffel, that will never happen. That is not what this team needs. They need an effective QB to manage the offense, but it is clear the team is built to win with defense and a good running game. You should be less concerned about TM and more concerned about Matt Jones and Mack Brown.

Um. It is a fact that his good performances were against probably the two worst teams in the SEC. Let's see how he does in the coming games. He may be great. But we really do not know any more today than we knew after.the UT game... That he does well agains far inferior competition, takes care of the ball better than JD had so far, that we are excited about his possible ability to lead the team to big wins, he handles pressure so far very well. But, it was against UT and K.

It doesn't matter. JD didn't even have the poise against weaker competition. Two INTS and a lost fumble against a weak Miami defense. Not to mention several bad passes. He'd already thrown his pick6 against Tennessee. It'd be different if JD had Danny like poise, but he didn't. TM has at worst DECENT awareness and that alone will make him adequate. He doesn't need to be Tebow.

That's the only way any team can win. No exceptions.
