Todd McShay has an article up in which he ranks the 10 most valuable players in college football and it got me thinking about this (since he has no Gators on the list). He said Easley would have been on there before the injury, but we are going to bounce back from his loss a lot more easily than we would from losing Murphy. People (me included) were saying early in the season/preseason that we'd be in a world of hurt if we lost Driskel, but obviously we were wrong. However, I think pretty much everybody agrees that if Murphy was lost for the season that'd be about it for the offense. So is Murphy now the most valuable player in college football? I'm sure good arguments could be made for other players, and they're probably all going to be QBs, but most teams also probably have a more capable backup than what we have left behind Murphy. So, if not Murphy, then who? Maybe Bridgewater or Manziel? Mettenberger?
