Met a couple from South Africa today. Been here 13 yr, brought entire family of kids, grand parents to Fla. Why? When borders were opened, crime rose to such levels that simply going shopping required one to be armed. Mom and Dad drove along with gun in lap. Dad was always packing. At night, never fully stop at a red light, slow down to look, but keep moving. Ditto stop signs. Bands of criminals would jump out of side of roads and rob, murder, etc. They lived in nice neighborhood but had high chain link fence around house with barb wire on top. Neighbor across the street had car stolen from parking in front of his house, with gun held to his head. Police were virtually powerless due to the amount of thugs on the street. When this couple saw the gun at the neighbor's head out their window, they said we are leaving to USA now....they left. He is in upper level Finance so was able to find a job in Fla and was able to fast track a green card since his brother already lived here. They loved their country, but it went into a cesspool of violence. They said that USA was looking more and more like what their country.
