I think the key is to ask yourself what did you get for the money spent. Lincoln had to fight a Civil War that he did not start. FDR and Wilson got dragged into World Wars. Obama had to deal with a recession. One that he has made little progress in resolving. Obama's challenge is nowhere near that of those in front of him on the list. Add that to the fact that he has accomplished so very little in his administration, and it is a valid question to ask if Obama is the worst president.

The presidents before and after Lincoln were worse than Obama. Obama might be the worst president of the last century, though. GWB is close, of course. LBJ is not far behind, along with Carter.

Well to be fair to Obama (and Hoover), debt has two components: spending and revenue. During the wars, it was obviously increased spending that generated the debt spikes, but during the recessions, it was decreased revenues. Most of these revenues were pre-committed from prior agreements. Clearly, Obama can be held responsible for some of the bills, like the stimulus or GM bailout, but not military or medicare spending.

Perhaps you would like to rethink the highlighted part of your post above? Rade?

You mean that you think that we should promote using only politically liberal historians to rank presidential greatness?

Almost every condition cons complain about save for excess debt started under GWB.

However, they have chosen to ascribe blame to Obama instead.

These are really just words, they don't mean anything in reality.

Bush messed things up real bad, partly because of Clinton putting the housing crash wheels in motion, but Obama hasn't done one single thing to make our country better. His crowning achievement is a piece of dog feces that not even the leaders of his own party want to be apart of.

You can try the Bush song and dance all you want, but at this point, its probably best if you just finally give it up and figure out whats going on NOW.

    Case in point.

Con selective amnesia says we went from Clinton bad to Obama bad. No gap in between.

I'll settle this spat. Obama may not be the worst but 20 years from now he still won't make top 40.

Keep telling yourself this about Bush. The banking/real estate crisis started long before Bush. And your boy Barney Frank and his buddy Chrissy Dodd, added gasolene to the fire.

No, not at all, but I suspect that you already know that's not what I was saying.

    Therefore, it's not Obama's fault?

Well I assumed that you weren't saying that. However, I'm not sure exactly what you were hinting at either.
