It was interesting to me that Spurrier told Zook when Zook was named to replace Spurrier that winning had become a relief. Thinking about the job I retired from 3 years ago, had completing a successful project became a "relief" rather than a time to celebrate, I would have been pretty miserable. Of course, had I been making $2M or $3M a year, I might have endured the pain.

Thanks for the link, it was interesting. The main thing I took away from the Gator segment was that negative fan comments and pressure, in fact, DOES weigh on coaches' minds. We as Gator fans should be aware of that fact when we start threads, comment on posts, reply to reporters articles or blogs, etc. It sounds like Spurrier was ready to pack it in sometimes just on fan negativity.

This also goes to player negativity as well, if it is on the coaches mind, how much might it effect a player reading or hearing the same type of things.

I am looking forward to great things and I am very excited to see how our new coaches can get things going on O. Good luck and hard work to all our players.
    GO GATORS!

Takeaway: Don't say anything bad about the program. Just shut up and pay.

The is the University of Florida, Football/Sports/Academic program. It is what it is. To say that it needs to change is like asking a leopard to change its spots. It may make sense on one level but doesn't have anything to do with reality. Now if you want to ask why we can't have the same coach for 30 years then that is a valid argument.
