You have heard it all now. obama just announced that there is no way for the ins company's to be paid when some one enrolls the cash register has not been built into the system yet so the ins company's can estimate how much the tax payers owe them for policey's issued as it will operate on a honor system and down the road they will figure out who owes who. obama said today the system is working. Either he is the dumbest thing to walk or he thanks the American people are the dumbest

Maybe we better gas up a bunch of B 52s and start bombing American with money

Thanks. If I understand this correctly, wouldn't the insurance company then send a bill?

The way it was explained in the news there is no way with the website to pay the ins company's when you take out a policy so the ins company can estimate how much will be owed them and send a bill to the government and down the road when all this mess is figured out they will settle up. In other words lets hope the ins company's are honest and lucky for us they all are :)

The administration is planning a "workaround" for payments, said Daniel Durham, vice president for policy and regulatory affairs at America's Health Insurance Plans.

Health plans will estimate how much they are owed, and submit that estimate to the government. Once the system is built, the government and insurers can reconcile the payments made with the plan data to "true up" payments, he said.

"The intent is to make sure plans get paid on time, which is a good thing," Durham told Reuters.

    A "workaround" for payments????

Imagine what the clusterscrew will be when claims started trying to get processed---patients AND providers are going to be screwed at biblical proportions.

And we were all told having the Fed govt handle this would lower costs--be more efficient--etc. 3 full years to get everything ready....3 years of promises and guarantees....3 years for them to now come up with a 'workaround'. Holy bejesus, it gets more laughable by the hour.

    God help us all.
