Completely agree. Every team deals with it, it's the nature of the game. Nobody should get a clean pass bc of it.

Reading this answer vertically, top to bottom, such a LEWD answer.

I am certain that any coach in the country would trade the entire 1st portion of your list for Easley. That is purely a group of ham and eggers that are no longer with the team bc they didn't have the talent. The same is not true of Florida's losses.

Lets not forget that Florida also lost a bunch of top line players to the NFL and graduation. Very likely a better group then FSU with Floyd, Elam, Reed, etc.

Comparing FSU's roster trimming to Florida losing 7 starters on a team that was already replacing 15 starters is apples and oranges.

FSU is having a great year against a soft schedule, but please don't come over here and act like this I some world beater program. You are 1 loss away from being out of the title race and 1 injury away (Winston) from being back to 8-4.

Give it up already. Taylor is a frosh. As or Murph, I like him but I am not so sure he has done anything to stake claim to a spot ahead of JD on the depth chart. Go back an watch the games. TM has missed a lot of open throws or has been late on his reads. Both LSU and Georgia were winnable if he throws a few balls earlier and makes plays as opposed to eating the ball.

I'd hate to see Driskel with this starting offensive line...

I get you're giving it to a troll, but do you really believe without Winston, FSU is 8-4? That's...interesting.

And I'd also disagree that the list consists of players that didn't have the talent. Not the 2 starters lost and not the other 7 that were expected to be heavy contributors.

Drivel will start next year. There was a reason he was starting this year. Anyone bother to notice that Driskel hasn't played a down during the three game losing streak?

An excuse? No. But a viable contributing factor? Absolutely.

It's 1996. What's UF's record if we lose Danny, Fred Taylor, Travis McGriff and Jeavon Kearse?

It's 1993. What's FSU's record if they lose Charlie Ward, Warrick Dunn, Tamarick Vanover and whoever the hell was their big defensive star.

It's 2001. What's UF's record if they lose Rex Grossman, Earnest Graham, Carlos Perez and Lito Sheppard?

It's 2006. What's UF's record if they lose Chris Leak, Deshawn Wynn, Cornelius Ingram and Jarvis Moss?

Def a concern. We shouldn't get better in some positions with these injuries. Don't forget, Taylor was behind a walk on 4th on depth chart to start the season.

I think the major difference is those players were stars. It's been argued (and is still being argued on this site) that the backups for the injured players are better than the starters.

Losing Easley was a huge blow. But I just don't think comparing the loss of Driskel is congruent to past great teams losing their heisman winners/runner-ups.

The problem is you're comparing legends or at the very least guys who were clear cut all-conference caliber players with Driskel/Jones/Debose, guys who never proved much of anything and certainly didn't show they were irreplaceable. I don't think it really matters who is in your offense, it's the coaching/teaching that is the problem. You've had several 5-star and 4-star guys on offense including some who were the very best at their position, and you have more coming in this class, but I don't think there will be much of a difference with Pease. For gator nation's sake, I hope I'm wrong.

By the way I can't speak for the UF examples you gave, but in 1993 we lost Charlie Ward for one game, and his backup Danny Kanell came in and went 28-38 for 341 yards, 5 TDs and 0 INTs.

LOL at an FSU attrition list whose biggest blows came courtesy of "legal" and "grades" issues. Posted by a Nole, no less!

The biggest blow was losing starting safety Tyler Hunter to a neck injury for the season. He was probably going to have an All-ACC caliber season.

Which is a blow but didnt you replace him with Jalen Ramsey a 5 star CB/S? It is like when UF lost Purifoy or Roberson for a few games we had VH3
