In my opinion, this Saturday's game is HUGE for the future of UF's success in getting South Florida kids.

Seems like we have started to get some traction down south. A solid win/blowout against the co-canes should help long term recruiting. We need to take this opportunity to make sure we make it clear that UF is where you want to go to play for championships.

Here is to hoping Champ and team RUTS the U!

I believe a win helps us a lot. Would like to hear AZ weigh in.

It helps but not as important as

    (1) whatever remaining NCAA penalties loom for Miami
    (2) how the entire season goes for Miami & UF

And I think both of those things are secondary to roster depth at specific positions

A loss for Miami is more hurtful than a loss by the Gators given the above...
Especially since this year's group from S Fla aren't going to be moved either way...

The other factors will impact Miami's future in S Fla much more than UF's but UF has an opportunity to really drive into S Fla in the next few years if UM loses & gets negative impact from the other forces in addition to Saturday's game.

For UF its an opportunity (either gained or lost) for Miami its another factor in staying relevant to the top S Fla HS football players for the next couple of recruiting cycles.

A much more important game for UM in terms of recruiting than for UF.

A win would be nice for recruits but the main reason for improved south florida recruiting seems to be due to Travaris R

I dont think any one game has a big impact on recruits. If UF wins nothing really changes. If Miami wins they have a better narrative for recruiting to say they "are back". But if they go out and lose to Duke and Virginia and nobody shows up to the stadium at the end of the year nothing was really gained. The atmosphere is good for Miami this games gets a lot of kids on campus that might not otherwise show up.

If by some chance UM wins, it might help them regain their foothold on their own turf. It won't effect this year's recruiting a bit. If we destroy them, it will give us even more momentum going for the 2015 class.

This is a Miami story, not a Gator story. In reality, it's not a story at all.

Keeping Travaris Robinson on staff is pretty critical, as mentioned above. He's clearly a rising star.

For the most part I don't think individual games matter, but this is a statement game for a team that's been down... and in a big time recruiting territory.

A solid win matters both for perception of our program and to keep Canes from getting traction. I think having a lot of Gator fans there could matter too. This would be the only time these recruits see the home team fans get out numbered and shouted down by visiting fans.

I find it impossible to believe that game doesn't hurt us.

I'm normally a believer in the "it is just a game" band, but that was a showing of offensive impotence when it mattered, worthy of the media and fan mocking it is already getting. Let's hope the damage can be controlled.

Unless we lose our current committs from Sfl, this game has no effect whatsoever. Cook has to see playing time, and Phillips' qb will be Grier.

Miami's offense picked up a grand total of 10 first downs playing at home. Better yet I am sure the recruits were especially impressed about Miami converting 1 of 11 third down converstions.

If a recruit likes that for offense, more power to them.

If anything I feel the recruits saw that we dominated UM in every phase and feel like they can be the missing piece to get us over the hump.

That's what I thought too but Jackson said that we got out done physically in the 4th quarter or something. Do these kids actually watch the games? Lol they stuffed our inside run and that's it period. We dominated there offense after the 1st quarter to the end of the game. I hate the dang canes bro. Had to turn my phone off down here! I hope the recruits seen our total yards verses there's....

By that same token recruits might also be unimpressed with look at how sloppy we looked in the redzone.
