I'm starting to become optimistic. I can't help it.

Since I became a Gator fan in the early 80s, I've suffered through the same pattern. Around the time of Orange and Blue game, I start believing all that I read. I try to remain objective, but I can't. And it only gets worse as the season approaches.

I am starting to believe that this offense will be very good and we will be able to score plenty of points.

I think we are going to win some ballgames.

Optimism on GC is usually not tolerated....but it's like a 22 yr. old model in a bikini...it's something I kinda like to see.

I can't help but feel the same way. Reading between the lines on some of Muschamp's compliments of Roper, I don't think we realized just how disfunctional the offensive coaching staff was. Now that's on Muschamp that it got to that point, but at least he's trying to fix it. Sure it's to save his job, but if it means more W's for the Gators I don't care.

While I appreciate everything the urban recruits did for us, I think them leaving is going to help things in terms of chemistry and leadership too.

No one should apologize for their feelings (well maybe some of the gameday posters, especially on NBN). I sincerely hope that there were a series of bad breaks and that they are now over. We will see sooner or later. But as your enthusiasm indicates, if we see something more like the past three years, my guess is that the anger - or even worse, indifference - is going to rear back with a vengeance.

Even an average offense would look like the '99 Saint Louis Rams compared to last years tumbling dumpster fire.

There's reason to be optimistic for next season because it simply cannot get any worse that last season. Can it?

What's amazing is all the articles talking about our playmakers on offense yet according to some on here we had no playmakers last year. What a difference an OC makes....at least we hope so.

Healthy this team will score some points As crazy as this sounds healthy the 2014 team would have scored some points with Pease too. The big question is can this team stay healthy and if not can the team score points with back ups having to play big roles

My opinion is that if Roper was able to take half star players and turn them into superstars... then is there even a sealing for what he can do with the most talent laden players on the east coast?? I think we could dominate next... dare i say undefeated.. I believe with the right motivation and leadership all of the pieces are there to succeed in all dimensions of the game...think about it.. 11-2 on a run first team of freshmen... now we have a better defense, play makers, and an offense surely to break this streak of lackadaisical offensive play.

lets not forget how many sec teams are rebuilding after the loss of so many star quarter backs..

Hopefully this thread remains positive but I'm with ya freak. All the success and failure solely lies on Muschamp but I truly believe he's the guy. It's not a talent issue. I believe we finally have the right coaches on both sides. Some may call that a "Muschamp supporter" but I'd rather be that then what I've seen from the same few from thread to thread. Very excited for tomorrow and even more for the season. You better believe our guys will have a chip on their shoulders.

I've said since they hired Roper that this is the best suited coach, and offense for Driskel. Not only Driskel, but the whole offense. It benefits everyone. I went as far yesterday to make a total of $200 bets.

    1) Gators will win 9-10 games this season. Worth $100.
    2) Gators will upset FSU this year. Worth $100
    3) And most importantly, they were both made with my dip sh*t FSU friend.

There's only so much he can do and so of course there is a ceiling. I think Roper had great success at Duke and he certainly gave Texas A&M a hell of a game, but his offense was not able to execute against FSU's defense when it came to scoring. FSU had a great defense last year, not as good as they liked to think before the Auburn game, but certainly a well performing unit and were going to face plenty of teams just as good or better this year on defense. I would assume that our difference in talent level would be the only thing needed in his scheme used against FSU, but he much longer than a year to install it as well. Don't even know what I'm posting about at this point, just wanted to throw my thoughts in.

Just remeber the first year SOS got here after the doldrums of the late 80's. BOOOM! we becamean offensive juggernaut with no offensive talent, at least people thought we had no talent. He made average guys look like 5 star recruits.
