I would trade being first in time of possession for 25th in scoring...

If that were to happen he would still have his job, but that is rare. If you go 12-1 there is like a 95%+ chance of winning the SEC east.

we'll be fine. we got some offensive talent coming in this class and 2015 is LOADED in the state of Florida. Missing out on that class (a formality when changing staffs) and handing the talent to fswho and da u would hurt big time

True, but it happens. Since 1992, there has been 21 SECCGs. Of the 42 opponents, 26 of them went to Atlanta with either zero losses or one loss (62%). Going 12-1 with a loss to Georgia or some other SEC east team that runs the table is not that far fetched.

If Boom only loses to Georgia next year, but wins every other game, no one will fire him.

Heck if we go 12-1 with our only loss being to the undefeated SEC champs, we will possibly make the 4 team playoff.

On #1, he hired Pease and doesn't think he is the problem.
#2 Grier would come to Florida with or without Will, be better if Will wasn't the coach, due to conservative offensive nature.
Hire his coach, his dad, and we would keep him and fly. Here's your OC.
#3. Recruiting, he is already getting soiled in recruits eyes, Losses to FSU, Miami and Georgia Probable, if this occurs even if he is given a vote of confidence, commits will waver unless we find a HC who inspires recruits, alumni and the nation. This is if we collapse, Will won't have any control. To go forward with this staff, would be a mistake that will take years to undo if we leave him in charge.

    Tilly,
I agree with you.....JF needs to show support for Muschamp and tell all the fair weather fans to go play with themselves! This years team has been decimated by injuries.... which appears to be the same as a lot of our fan base, who are suffering from brain implosions! The Gators have been on track to build a terrific team and they have been blindsided by the worst set of injuries in the last 30 years! Get a grip folks.....you are either a supporter or you are Gator Bait! I think Muschamp will do great things as a college head coach....I only hope we allow him to do it at UF!

    1. You think he cant correct that? My guess is if he can send players packing, he can send staff packing.

    2. I Dont worry about Grier coming. I worry about him being ready and his use as such.

    3. I think his recruiting record is currently VERY good. It is far from soiled. But we need to prevent it from getting to that point. Thus my "one way or the other" point in the OP.

It looks like some of these 17 yr old recruits have more perspective than you. Dalvin cook, arguably the most important recruit this class already came out and said this season has no bearing on his his decision, in fact he said all good teams have bad seasons and that they are coming to help. Now if boom goes, good chance robinson goes too! And that is key. He is whos recruiting all this south fla offensive talent.

I wouldnt be so certain grier stays if we have a complete coaching change. He was lining up visits with auburn before they got sean white committed but stated he wanted to keep his options open in case "something crazy" happens.... like can the coaching staff he has built relationships with.

JF is a patient guy. He needs to see growth, but he is patient. If he still feels 100% that Will is the guy, he can send a stronger message if he wants. Think about it like this. We have had a coach here who took several years to get it rolling. JF showed great patience with him....even with several failures in the post season.

He rewarded Jeremy with 3 Final 4's, Countless Elite 8's and two National Title banners in the O-Dome.

Because of that loyalty, Billy has spurned UK and the NBA.

I think Will is a future championship coach. Question is will we wait and see?

We have enough "fire Will Muschamp"/"Muschamp is on the hot seat"/"how much longer will JF tolerate this" type threads. Got it?

I'm confused. This is a DON'T fire Will Muschamp, but rather EXTEND HIS CONTRACT thread.

    From my OP:

    Got it?

Sometimes doing nothing is better than doing something. Which I think is the case here. When you look at all the difficulties and problems created by firing a HC - transfers, lost recruits, new system for the players, new assistants, to name just a few - I think WM deserves at least two more years, assuming that things don't turn into total disasters before then.
