IF we win the SEC (because we still control our destiny)

If we get over our OL and DL woes and somehow beat Alabama in the SEC championship game, we would end the SECs streak of national championships, because there's no way they put us in with two losses when Oregon and OSU are playing no one. I KNOW we still have to beat a bunch of good teams in the East to get there, and there are questions on our team's capabilities. But it is still interesting to think that it might end up being a slightly bitter sweet victory if we somehow get there.

Imagine the "Is the SEC's dominance over?" articles. Remember when people wanted a Michigan OSU rematch?

Don't take this the wrong way....but at this time....it's hard to imagine we would be able to beat Bama.

That said...yes it would be a shame to end the SEC NC run. No doubt about that.

Right now I'm worried about the rest of our season.

I think the SEC streak ends this year regardless.

I have thought many times about how ironic and terrible it would be if by winning the SEC, we put osu in the NC game.

At some point it just becomes Bama dominance.

Who cares about the SEC streak? All I care about is Florida. I don't understand taking solace in Bama national titles. If it is Bama/Oregon, I am rooting hard for Oregon.

Exactly, at this point it is not good for us or anyone else in the conference if Bama keeps winning. I don't care about the streak anymore and only care about UF getting back to winning championships.

We won't beat Alabama, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if we won the East.

Bama has Florida's defense plus a balanced, diverse offense with great skill position players. The most difficult of the two to obtain on an annual basis is a prolific defense. Add guys like Dalvin Cook, Ermon Lane and Will Greir, and we are right where we want to be to challenge for national titles.

Truth is, getting ready for it, the UL loss was no fluke. They were a better team then and are a better team now. We love to think it was a fluke but I've seen enough now to know that if we play UL ten times they will win the majority.

To win the sec east means we need a complete team. We don't have one. We have a great defense and basically a TOP offense. We are last or near last in the sec in offense. We are what a hundred and something in offense in the nation and think we can win the east? For that to happen, uga will have to play without Murray which means we might win 3-0. Usce will have to have a complete meltdown. Heck, mizz and vandy game won't be a cakewalk.

Our offense takes us back to the 80s pre spurrier days.

We can't win any championships with an offense like we now have. So nothing to worry about.

I said all along that this team wasn't going to Atlanta. So far, nothing has happened to make me think differently.

I expected us to lose to LSU and if we're lucky, we'll split the Poodles and Carolina.

Either Spurrier or Richt will be coaching in Atlanta in December.

I predict that there will not be an SEC team in Pasadena.

I just think the whole conference is down & somehow the East winner will upset Bama.

I think the Gators and Missouri are the two the control their own destiny right now-Georgia needs MO to lose twice and SC need GA to lose again--

Good question... they probably have a tougher schedule than Bama.
