Fresh start? You're kidding, right?
Please stop talking about 1979.
Actually, this was easy to believe:
"... (FSU's) QB would be accused of rape, the charges would be dropped..."
Annual event in Tally.
1979 is a faded memory of suck. 2013 is a current situation of suck.
2013 wins on freshness alone.
Disagree. In 1979 we had no precedent to compare. We had been a mediocre to slightly better than average team up to that point. It was Coach Pell's first year, so he got a pass. This time the expectations are much greater, so the fall is much deeper. All those positive streaks we had built up since 1979 just ended with a whimper.
It's still wrong. Winless is winless. You had to be there...
But 4-8 is certainly the worst SINCE 1979, and the second worst since 1946, when we went 0-9. It was, by any measure, a horrible year...
Since 2010, we haven't been elite. You think we went 13-1 EVERY year? Greatness left when Tebow and Harvin left. Meyer didn't know what to do, and his successor to Tebow got kicked out of school. No Plan B.
History begins before one's conscious recollection, but Americans are not known to know much about history or make the effort to study it. They tend to be forward thinking.
Could you imagine the Vegas odds for a Auburn/Mizzou SEC title game at the start of the season. Both teams had bad years in 12 and in the end had a NC on the line. Had to be a million to one.
0-10-ONE. We knew we were bad, we knew Pell would get it together. It was my freshman year.
This year was MUCH worse, so to me, it was the WORST
With all the injuries I'd have predicted we'd only beat GA SO by 10.
Agreed. We didn't come off an 11-2 year either.
If AU wins - all of of rivals had sucky years also to some degree. SEC streak will have continued at the expense of our most hated rival.
If that doesn't happen, this will definitely be the worst season ever to me.
